We used XP with an ealier version of KIS 2009/2010 and IMAP AOL Outlook Express with no problems for several years. We recently updated to newer laptops with Windows 7 premuim home and the latest versionof KIS 2010. My POP3 mail works fine. I have followed the falko tutorial - Virtual Users And Domains With Postfix, Courier, MySQL And SquirrelMail (Ubuntu 8.04 LTS). Well, all seems to go well until i tried to login to squirellmail, then i got the message "ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server". I have read and tried a bunch of solutions without success. Like some other people I get the message "ERROR: Connection dropped by IMAP server" when trying to connect to squirrelmail. I am trying to set up my MobileMe email on my new Vista laptop, I have had no problems in the past following the instructions on the Apple website to set up both Windows Mail and Outlook 2007, but now it fails with this error on two different Vista laptops in both Mail and Outlook 2007. I have gone through every single step againa d found some errors i made in the configs. An extra character here and there that shouldn't be. Mainly to do with the passwords. Anyway all is well now. Thanks a lot Falko for your excellent howto. Now am off to fix the problem of mails sent from the server going to my yahoo spam box.

I thought as an after thought I would ucheck the ports. I am now receiving mail but the ports are left unchecked which I don't think is a good practice. I also found that Windows Messenger was in the list of monitored applications at the bottom but Windows Live Mail was not. That seems to be a bug in KIS 2010 since it should have checked it and added it. I'm going to experiment with ...
