I know I've been making quite a few threads lately, but whatever. What's the best way to pursue the IFR ticket part 61? I assume I don't have to get the 50 pic xc hours before I start my training, but how much should I do before I start training?

I asked my CFII however I am still not to certain and need some help. When you are flying under part 91 and departing from an uncontrolled field in actual IMC , other than looking at the obstruction features ahead of you on a sectional or your IFR enroute low altitude chart how do you know from the moment your wheels leave the ground to the moment you punch the clouds that you are clear of ...

I received my IFR ticket in March of 2008. I got my CFII in May of 2008. Can I start the clock over again from that point (currency) or from the date of my initial IFR checkride?

Does anyone know of an on-line IFR Preferred Routing programme for European GA flights. I used Autoplan IFR until recently which came up with suitable routings accepted by IFPS most of the time. It appears unuseable now as message 'Trial period expired' comes up on screen. We fly a Cessna P210 Turbo Prop conversion in the F180 to F230 band. Trying to put together a suitable commonsense plan ...

Coming back to the airport from a local downtown "tour", visibility dropped to like 3/8 SM, and overcast ceiling at 400 AGL. Shit was fucking scary. The plane wasn't even cleared for IFR. VOR/ADF unserviceable. No GPS either.

Had my RV 10 transponder and static system done for IFR cert. Have a 430w with Advanced glass with backup ADI, airspeed and MGL Alt-1 altimeter on backup battery. Tech would not certify the Alt-1 because he could not check it at (1000) ft per the FAA requirement. MGL specs are (700) ft which one would wonder why they didn't go to (1000). Checked regs and tech is correct. While backup altimeter is...

"Penguin" in another thread mentioned the importance of EFIS latency in IFR use (see http://www.vansairforce.com/communit...t=50144&pag e=6 , post 54). Can anyone give details of which EFIS' (certified and non certified) have what latencies, and opinions/information on the importance and minimal latency for IFR use? John

Experimenting & trying to find the best way to tune for the mototron 60's with my stock e40 ecu. I've hit the hard limit in the pcm for the IFR. Changing the voltage offset table seems to have no effect. Fuel trims are pulling to 18-20% as of right now. I've seen where some have said to half all ve tables. But, also wouldn't you have to half the maf tables, enginge displacement, etc.?...
