We are integrating LL7 (almost finished) and IEW. How does one combine these two? The authors of LL7 do not like adverbs! Yet, IEW LOVES adverbs. LL7 thinks the word "said" is complete and to the point, whereas IEW lists this as a "BANNED" word. Dd has been very curious about these differing opinions. We both agree that we like IEW better. I have been skipping the writing assignments in ...

Hi, I need a writing programme, as Writing Strands has been a big flop here. I would love to give IEW a try, the TWSS DVD is too expensive for me. I have seen this topic touched on before, but would like the "final verdict" from The Hive: can you use IEW without TWSS? Specifically, can you use the theme-based lessons without TWSS? What about the Student Writing Intensive? I would ...

Is this a stand alone grammar program or just extra practice for what you have already learned? I am getting ready to start IEW w/ my dd's 12 &13, and my ds 9 and was wondering if I used Fix It! Grammar along side of SWI B would they need any other grammar, or would this provide enough? Your opinions and experiences are greatly appreciated. TIA,

Where is the best place to buy IEW? From what I can see, the purchase price stays pretty much the same everywhere, but is there somewhere that offers free or cheap shipping?

(found here: http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forum...d.php?t=136 089 ) I've heard that Meaningful Composition is based off of IEW...does MC have the same sort of "issues" that IEW does when it comes to style, banned words, and such?

I really liked the concept of a passage that has incorrect grammar and punctuation and you fix it. However, the beginning level uses Huck Finn , I believe. I found that to be confusing since his grammar is colorful and not accurate. Are there any other products out there that work the same way but with other sources. I also liked that this product continues with a story rather than random ...
