I am using IE8 on windows xp pro sp2. I am opening developer tool bar from tools menu. Now when I click on the html page for which I have opened developer tool bar, this page comes in front and developer tool bar goes behind the page. Because of that, I can not select sections of the page which are behind the developer tool bar, when I opened it. How can I make sure that developer tool ...

I know it sounds weird, but using IE8 in a daily basis (just to see if I can replace Firefox at some point) gives me an uneasy feeling because it happens to me that, for example, I'm navigating this forum or browsing Facebook and almost on a daily basis I have to re-enter my ID/pass, sometimes even closing it and re-opening, and voila! re-enter again... I'm using it in plain mode (I mean, no...

Two people in our office get on the same government website - on one they get an error about the certificate being invalid, but not on the other. I installed the certificate but this did not fix the error. Both XinXP, both IE8. What is the cause, and the solution? Mich

I have a couple of PCs on a secure network that have IE8 installed. When ever I launch IE, I get a "set up windows internet explorer 8" pop-up. These PCs will never see the internet. How do I make the pop-up stop?

How much do I not like IE8 - lots!!  Anyway, moving on... Can anyone give me a fix for my sub and sub sub menus. These work fine in Chrome and Firefox but go horribly wrong in IE8:  http://www.mein-host.co.uk/MenuBarOnly.cfm  here's the CSS (sorry for the length of it )  @charset "UTF-8"; /* SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css - version 0.6 - Spry Pre-Release 1.6.1 */ /* Copyright (c...

It works in FF and Chrome, but not IE8. Code: .legBioTableColHeader { background-color:Aquamarine; height:14px; vertical-align:top; text-align:center; font-size:12px; border:1px solid black; } To see the different behavior, here is a link to my application (it will require Google Earth plug-in if you don't have it already). http://www.sovereignstates.net/...

I've got an old PC running XP. It's not bad but it's not real fast. AMD Duron 1800 cpu (approx like a 2100+ Athlon) Via SV266A chipset on Syntax mobo 768MB SDRAM memory Am still on Internet Explorer 6. Will my machine be ok to run IE7 or even IE8? Is there a simple and honest explanation of the pros and cons of these later versions of IE? I don't want to end up with a bloated ...

My wife allowed an auto update to install IE8. Immediately the sidebar clock stopped and other gadgets looked different. Unfortunately a restore to an earlier setting could not be completed (another problem to solve?) What can she do to correct the problem? Why does Microsoft bring such approbrium upon itself by distributing compter-wrecking software updates?

I have a problem with IE8 which is forgetting cookies from time to time. This is annoying because my saved login names and web page form selections and such things are lost. It does this about every month or so and I don't know what settings can it be. I don't use inprivate browsing. Thanks

Greetings: Just installed IE8, when checking my company's email through our outlook web interface I am unable to perform any functions that require a new browser window? If I try and reply to a message or download an attachment, a new window opens and then asks me to login again. If I log back in, it takes me back to the main email nterface if I try again anything that would open a ...

Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Using both 32 bit and 64 bit browsers, my "Home Page" has, just today, started to behave differently than it did in the past. Yesterday, there was an IE8 Update, so it may have something to do with that. Using Internet Options, General Tab, I have set my Home Page to open onr page and tab 2 others. Until today, it always did that. Today, it opens only 1 page ...

I found that IE8 was repeatedly hanging up trying to open any website and finally found that eliminating the this weather program from my desktop and computer solved the problem.

I update to IE8 a few weeks ago. The find function worked at first, but know it doesn't work at all -- whether through Ctrl + F or Edit | Find. when I do either of those, nothing happens. Note that I'm aware that IE has been changed so that there's no separate dialog box. The problem is that the text box doesn't appear on the tab row, as it did earlier. Any idea what the problem and ...

I've upgraded a lot of XP boxes and a few Vista boxes with IE8; one is causing severe problems. I have disabled all add-ons, removed known conflicts, re-installed antivirus, reset IE8 defaults back as far as I can, uninstalled Firefox, disk cleanup, defragged, and switched back to a local profile. I am almost ready to wipe and re-install OS. I can understand why I am seeing so many posts...
