( On function descriptor architectures \(powerpc and ia64\), we need to export the address of the function descriptor and not the actual function. The C compiler naturally does this for us. However we now export vmlinux symbols using the assembler, in order to sort the exports. This is not a problem on powerpc. On powerpc, the function descriptor is simply "printk" \(...

Let me start by saying, I'm a sales person with limited knowledge of Linux. We mainly sell HP / HP-UX related hardware. I need to find a storage array that is supported under SuSE Linux. The host server is an HP Itanium ia64 type server. I need to have about 5TB of storage. Can anyone point me to a storage array that will be compatible with the above hardware and OS? Thanks Jesse

I have changed maxdop to 4 and tested with cost of threshold at 5, 25, 50 and 75 and also tried maxdop at 1, all to no noticable difference to my sample query. This a very poorly tuned environment with many missing indexes and unused indexes (for example I found 1 table with 4 GB of data with 21 GB of indexes), however I was brought in right as as they were finishing the migration to sql 2005...

ia64 found this the hard way (because we currently have a stub for save_stack_trace() that does nothing). But it would be a good idea to be cautious in case a real save_stack_trace() bailed out with an error before it set trace->nr_entries. cds and dvds use 2k block sizes, and you have to cut it off at the end of the iso because it will run the md5 on the entire disc - including the random junk after your written data. I used the ia64 iso of FreeBSD because it was the smallest - I'm not going to use it for anything. justin$ sudo umount /dev/disk2 Have to unmount of course. justin$ ls -l | grep ia64 -rwxr-xr-x...
