Hello, My 11 yr. old son has Type 1 and was just diagnosed as hypothyroid yesterday. I am also hypothyroid and had a horrific experience on synthroid. I am now on armour and doing very well. My son's endo will not prescribe armour, so I am looking for one that will. Anyone else have experience with synthroid or armour? Can anyone recommend a good doctor in the Denver, CO or Sioux ...

I am new to this, this is my sixth day vegetarian. I was wondering if anyone here is hypothyroid and vegetarian. I am coming across all of this articles that say that the soy products are bad for hypothyroid and the med's don't absorb properly? I was just looking for thoughts and opinions? TIA

I had a bunch of infertility testing done a few months ago... The results were everything came back normal except my TSH and my Estridol levels. I have had a diagnosis of PCOS of 4 years now, and just got the diagnosis of hypothyroid as well now. I had so low of estrogen she ordered a second test, to see if it would raise in levels later in my cycle, and it didn't... I ...

Got my yearly bloodwork results from my doctor's office today. Everything is good. They said they will need to decrease my hypothyroid medicine a little (only medicine I take). I asked if it was because I had lost weight and the girl that called didn't know so I left a message for one of the nurses. Does anyone know if when you lose weight, it ...

About two months ago I found out that I have mild PCOS and a hypothyroid. My doctors put me on Metformin for the cysts and Levothyroxine for the thyroid. Has anyone else had this same combination of medical issues with a success story? After 6 weeks, a blood test showed that my thyroid level went too far the other way, so I've been about a week on a decreased dose. I know I've had one m/c for...

Hi All After struggling for many years with all kinds of different issues a doctor the other day had me tested for hypothyroid problems. My hair has been falling out, tired all the time, brittle toe nails, horrible periods, memory issues, dry skin, off balance, wild mood swings etc. For years I have been on Zoloft and Xanax for panic attacks. I will find out the results of my blood work on ...

Hi Ladies, I was recently diagnosed with a hypothyroidism and I have been put on Thyroxine. They discovered the thyroid issue because I hadn't gotten my period in 5 months! My husband and I are going to start trying again as soon as I get my period back and I wanted to see if any of you pregnant women out there had similar thyroid issues and if it affected (or didn't affect) your cycles. Did...

Hi, brand new to the site, but a long time reader. Our little girl Neige is seven years old and about 6 months ago we noticed the lethargy and weight gain. We had her checked then, and although on the "low end of normal" (which I now understand from reading here is really low for Golden) her Dr. said she was ok. Well now Neige is 100lbs and not very active. We asked for a second ...

My Bo is a hypothyroid boy too. He was diagnosed at age 5 when his weight very quickly ballooned up to 115 lbs. despite regular exercise and changes to his diet at the time. He has been on Soloxine ever since (starting at 0.8 mg, now down to 0.5). He gets retested regularly. The change in him was dramatic - he lost weight almost immediately, went back on a regular diet instead of a ...

My mother-in-law is 89 yrs. old,she takes alot of meds. for different ailments. She has been on levinthyroxine (spelling?) for about 4 yrs. now. She was taking 75mcg 1 per day for most of that time. She told us during Thanksgiving that her doctor has recently put her on 50 mcg everyother day. My husband (her son) and I both take thyroid meds. as well and have never heard of this. Do you know...

I had my thyroid removed almost 3 years ago due to cancer and I have had ADD all my life. I have been having a really hard time lately figuring out the right med because I have been sooooo tired with everything. Finally I stopped all ADD meds and upped my throid meds a bit and suddenly I feel great. My memory is better and because my thyroid levels are better I have energy and therefore find I...

The doctor formally diagnosed Sam as hypothyroid, and is starting him on synthroid. Sure I expected it after all the lab results the last 6 months, but still. I think today I'm going to allow myself an I HATE DIABETES day. But now maybe I should call it the I HATE AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES day. Or how about just plain old I HATE THAT KIDS CAN GET DISEASES day.

I won't get into any TMI details, but I could use a spare prayer. I have not been feeling great for a few weeks and finally got skeered enough to see the doc. Waiting for some test results and right now we're working on anemia/hypothyroid being the target culprits. I'd love to just have an answer and if it's not too much to ask that it be something ...
