please help! I am a hydrangea newbie. We just moved into our house last nov (08) and the front of my house is lined with them...i did not even know what they were. They turned out awfully this year and now that I realize what they are I need to know how to take care of them. I don't know how old they are and I certainly don't know what old wood is. My grandpa told me to cut them down to 6" and ...

I've read a lot on this forum about winter protecting hydrangeas, especially hayseedmans thread lol. But, I'm wondering, if I cage the hydrangea with chicken wire and burlap around it (both of which I have already done), do the leaves have to be in plastic bags or can they be loose shredded leaves that I just stuff in there? Most threads tell of surrounding the plant with those black plastic ...

I need to move a PG hydrangea - it is now approximately 4 feet tall by 4 feet across. Do you know what sort of rootball I am likely to find? Wide and shallow? deep? If you have moved a hydrangea recently, thanks for information and advice!

Hi, folks. This is about a PG hydrangea, "Pink Diamond," that I'm growing as a standard. It bloomed beautifully in its first year, now I'm wondering how severely I should prune it next spring? Any of you have experience with this? Thanks. GaryStPaul

Harry stuffed his willy hastily back into his jeans and tried to look innocent." A magic willy... this was what Harry had been really looking forward to. "Yes, yes. I thought I'd be seeing you soon. Harry Potter." It wasn't a question...

I know deer won't eat it, but will it keep deer from eating my daylily flowers? I don't have desperate deer. They only eat daylily flowers, selected hosta and somy hydrangea blooms. Thoughts?

I am new to this forum and appreciate all of the helpful information I have gathered through reading posts on gardening. Hopefully you can offer me some advice concerning my recent planting of 14 Limelight Hydrangea. I have a 7 to 8 foot wide space between a retaining wall and concrete patio. All conditions good for growing Limelight. Yesterday we dug 14 very large holes, added compost and peat...
