Rode the Hudson Line end to end on Monday October 19, and experienced the Walkway over the Hudson. If you were out Monday, you know what kind of a day it was... bluebird! Great views, foliage, and lots of train action. Check it out here: http://picasaweb.google.com/shadyjayvt/ ... dson91909# Enjoy!

Congrats to the group that got that bridge saved and restored. I can imagine all the work that had to be done with various agencies involved and the mountain of paperwork! They deserve a big big thank you for their years of effort! Guess it just shows that if theres a will theres a way to get it done.

as reported on another forum: There has been an accident at the Hudson Ave crossing in Peekskill at 17:55. Metro North train #849 will be returning south to Cortland Station. Metro North #851 will hold at Croton-Harmon. ALL train are to STOP AND STAY as of now. This is expected to take a long time to clear as there is a reported fatality. My thoughts are with all involved...especially...

If you are parking up and training, make sure to park along the Hudson line (Tarrytown and the rest), not the Harlem line (White Plains and beyond) as after the game, all the trains heading up the Harlem line require a change either back at the Harlem/125th street station or all the way back at Grand Central. It sounds like getting out...

Has anyone here hiked on the Hudson River Greenway? It sounds like it goes close to the Amtrak Hudson line running from Inwood Park to Penn Stn. A poster on another forum said this about Fort Tryon: Fort Tryon Park in the Indwood section of Manhatten allows awesome views of the Amtrak line into Penn Station. Are there good views of the Amtrak line from any of these areas? I'm planning to ...

CP has never stopped running down the hudson line to and from fresh pond (NY&A interchange). They run 3 days a week (M/W/F). They haul a fraction of what CSX does but so far's I know they do good moving aggregates in especially during the warmer months.
