5 days post op and the hot flashes started today. I kept one ovary but I read on here that it can shut down for awhile from the shock of surgery. I'm assuming that is what is happening. I'm new to this website. I came here because I have had hot flashes for the past 10 years, even during the 3 years I was on HRT. I was about a week after for myself, seems to go on most of the night, hot, cold,hot,cold,hot cold.........is this just the beginning or am I going to get worse, and the burning pain on the left side of my surgery site is bad still.

So I don't know what's going on. I tried searching for it, and a few people had posted about having hot flashes AFTER they eat. But, I'm having hot flashes WHILE eating. I took two bites of my breakfast this morning and wham..... last night, same thing. It's discomforting and it feels like I've lost my breath chewing! Strange huh? I hope I'm not the only one

Has anyone else been having facial hot-flashes? Occasionally I get this warm/hot feeling in my face and ears. It passes after a few seconds. Does anyone know what this is? Anyone else having them?

( DCMom - you could always try the shots if you don't want to "commit" fully to the ooph. It actually still boggles my mind that I will never have another period. , )
