I'm looking to add a lot of organic matter to some of my garden and I'm thinking about getting aged horse manure from a local stable. I kinda worried about it being too pungent and have contaminants compared to 'store bought' poop. Any opinions on that. Their manure is considerably cheaper but I'm wondering if it's worth it??

I was going to go see the Atlanta Rhythm Section and The Marshal Tucker band tonight at the Tulsa fair tonight. We had NO clue the fair would be as busy as it was, and they had just added a butt load of more parkin around the fair grounds. The concert was at 8 and we got there at 7:30 and there wasn't a parkin space ANYWHERE. We would have had to walk a couple miles and by then we ...

I use it a little different. By putting a 6 inch layer of DRIED horse manure on top of my raise beds, and start it burning gives me a great amount of carbon. The dried manure want blaze,it will burn very slow.Sixteen hours for a 2 foot square area. That is why it turns out to be carbon and not ashes.
