I've just bought the Hornady OAL gauge and am using this with the off-the shelf .308 modified case and the Hornady bullet comparator. I'm reloading for a Remington 700. I am using the Hornady AMAX 168gr I made several measurement using the gauge. I seemed to get a fairly consistent measurement of 2.337". I decided to knock the whole 0.037" off to be on the safe side and went ...

I went hunting this morning carrying my Remington 700 SPS Tactical in 308. I've never taken anything with the Hornady BTSP, but it groups best in the gun. I didn't see a deer, but a boar walked up. I made a good shot, he rolled around for a second, then ran into some nearby shrubs. This was no small boar. He was probably close to 250 or 300 lbs. I climbed down, and much to my surprise, found ...

Just wondering if anyone has reloaded using the Hornady FTX bullets (Same as in the LEVERevloution series) I know they are out in 44 Mag and 45 and they are supposed to be releasing in 357 Magnum soon. I was wondering if there was anything special that needed to be done to the reloader since these are pointed bullets, more like rifle bullets tha handgun bullets.??? Thanks

Just received an email a few minutes ago from Natchez Shooters supply. They have Hornady 380 ACP Critical Defense available. 25/box. $19.95. Limit five boxes. I just got notification that Midway shipped my .380 ACP order for Speer GD also.

I have some spent leverevolution cases and they measure 2.030" compared to the 2.095' on a winchester case with hollow points fatory rounds. Can i still load the smallers hornady cases with honady 300gr hollow points. Or do i need to reload the 325grn FTX bullets in the shorter cases. The Hornady Manual says trim cases to 2.095 for the hornady 300grn hollow points. Any info will be ...

I had some discussion in another thread about my sticky primer feed on my new Hornady LnL AP. I was asked to share the fix if I found one so.......... The problem was one primer would go into the feed slide hole and the next primer in line would catch the edge of the hole and the slide would stick back causing no primers to feed. Well I had a chance to look at it and finally figured it out. ...

So I decided to go with the Hornady LNL. I got a lot of good information from everyone but decided for the amount of use it will get, I was better with the Hornady than going to the Dillon 650. My question is: what else do I need? I assume I need a shell plate for each caliber, do I need additional bushings? Anything else?

Hey everyone. I posted this elsewhere but got limited responses, so I figured I'd try here as well. Here's my original post: I just got a phone call from a friend of mine that I have some questions about. He was sighting in a new 12 gauge slug gun, and had been recommended hornady SST slugs at the gun shop. I'm a big hornady fan, and probably would've told him the same. I shoot them out of...

it takes me longer to load 100 primers into the tube than it does to reload 100 rounds. i have two, 366's. both about 15-20 years old. that twisty turny, primer feeder thing angled on top is a bad joke. do the newer ones work any better or have you come up with a better way to fill the primer tube? thanks

EDIT**** Not CTX but Critical Defense This kinda surprised me. I picked up my new SW 638 today. Well, this evening I got to try it out. Ran through 50 rounds of the 38 spl Wally world value pack, 10 rounds of the Federal 110 gr hydrashock "low recoil", and 10 rounds of the 110 grain Critical Defense. All of these were standard pressure as this is all I could scrounge locally...

I have recently been impressed with the accuracey of the LEVERevolution bullets from Hornady. Regretfully they are not offered in 357 Magnum for reloading yet (Although they are available in 44 Mag and 45 ACP). Anyway, I am wondering if anyone knows of another manufacturer that might have gone down the same path and has a sililar product. As good of product as Hornady is I find it hard ...

ive been using cci primers so far and i tried a few federals that i managed to get and on my Hornady LNLAP the biggest difference would be how HORRibly easiy the federals are to seat with the primer punch as opposed to those nasty cci primers. its like im pressing a soft puffy cloud into the primer pocket of my cases as oppsed to the ccis which sometimes would have lotsa trouble seating ...
