Helping a friend with his VT600, '89. Local shop told my buddy his CDI needs to be replaced. Put a used on one about 3 years ago. Idles find, but starts studdering and falling out at around 35mph or so. I've checked everything I know by the book and it sure looks like it may be the CDI. WTT 1998 Honda Shadow A.C.E. Deluxe 750cc. Motorcycle is in very good condition. In picture 3 it looks like marks on gas tank. There are no scratches or marks. Recently serviced. I recently picked up a 2003 Shadow Spirit 750 that has sat up for a couple of months. It wouldn't even start when I got it. To make a long story short, I have replaced the battery, gone through the carbs a couple of times, changed the air and fuel filter, run a motor flush and added a berryman's fuel treatment. macrider's advise is sound. I forgot that I changed my intake as well - i put a K&N filter in and couldn't get the adjustments correct with just the idle screws. Kneedragger did a great job. He put the wrong jets in the first time around but after one phone call, i was back into his garage and he replaced them on the spot - great work.

How long have you let it idle with the berrymans? many need to run more gas through to get further progress. I would probably sit there and rev it for a long while, then run it slow speed, gradually faster even if it sputters. maurice _________________ 2001 SHADOW SPIRIT VT1100C

Personally I think that this new RS is the BEST Shadow yet ... but, as pointed out, price is far too close to it's main competition, the XL883 ... so that alone will likely hurt sales. Price point the RS at at least $1000 cheaper, drop 50-60lbs and add a rear disc ... then they'd have a home run! BTW, scootworks.com make a belt drive conversion kit for the previous chain-driven Shadow models (...
