I am not sure if this is the right place, but I have a question: Are the .223 hollow points from Wolf or Brown Bear(or any other bulk mfg) legal for deer in Georgia ? My thought is that a FMJ is an FMJ, regardless if it is a HP or not and can't be used for deer hunting. Anyone who would use a FMJ for deer IMHO is just looking to lose deer. I won't be using them myself. This is more to ...

Sorry Good People In my first post, I didn't post the thread on shooting black bears with hardcast bullets by JJ Hack. It is below. I'm sure some of you have used hardcast with success, this article presents a different view point and it is also mine. As far as JJ Hack goes, few people have ever been in on so many black bear kills as JJ Hack that they can make a quality ...

I started this project to make food for my new Colt Combat Commander: Link to Colt Photo I've had this old two cavity Geo. A. Hensley bullet mould, which is the original design for the .45 Colt bullet. About 250 grains, flat base, two grease grooves, rounded meplat. But, it had a nick in one of the bases, and it was cut in the 1940's for the then standard SAA diameter of .454", vs. .452...

Bought a box for my annual trip to Nebraska...I've shot a doe with it and my dad shot a buck...And I must say, it puts a big ol hole in em....the funny thing is, they both ran about 100 yards...it amazes me how a deer can run with half the heart and part of the lungs missing has anyone else used these, how have they done for U???

It's interesting that the FMJ 7.62x25s have some hellish penetration, but the HPs are just about the same if not barely a touch ahead of the mainstream calibers (9mm, .40 and .45)in penetration per a few gel tests I read on.

It is a small tradeoff between more power (the .45ACP) and more ammo. Personally, I would go with a .40 S&W using the 155 grain hollow points my agency issues (REMINGTON or FEDERAL). You get MORE POWER and MORE AMMO CAPACITY. A WIN-WIN. Jim
