...I kid. Just wanted to make sure there were some baseball fans here left tonight. Who plays LF if the Yankees miss out on Bay and Holliday? I'm a heartless man at worst, babe And a helpless one at best.

Markets for StL's free agents seem to be dwindling pretty quickly: Holliday: Atlanta, Yankees, Mets, BoSox, Cardinals, Angels, Giants Everyone but the Cardinals and Yankees have a strike against them. I think the big fish (Yankees, BoSox, and to some extent the Angels) are looking at Carl Crawford in 2011. But Yankees seem luke-warm at best. Of course if they set half their minds to it, ...

Based on an article on ESPN a Boston club source has said that their primary target is still Bay. They indicate the concern that the price for Holliday will be too high. In addition the Mets are apparently not real interested in pursuing him either. Rumors persist that the Yankees would rather resign Damon and Matsui that spend big bucks on Holiiday. IF.. all of that is true then the market...

Now that the meeting with Holliday's agent is this coming Monday, I feel that the meeting will be unfruitful Holliday is looking for Big bucks! Something that the Cardinals can't spare for a player that is looking for stardom and cash but if he looks at what his options are he will get plenty of chances batting in back of Albert, Albert gets on base by many means: Walks, singles, Doubles and ...

Knowing that the clash with Florida State is his last game in The Swamp, Cade Holliday isn't ready to leave. With a whirlwind of experiences marking his last five years, the redshirt senior is one of seven players remaining from head coach Urban Meyer's first season with the Florida Gators. If you liked or didn't like this story, please vote it up or down on GatorBeat! Just click the ...

I was reading on another message board that essentially Holliday could be signed for free. Hear me out on this because it may not be fully together and fully correct. When a team has a "franchise player" they take out insurance just like any of us would on a car or a home. They pay a premium anywhere from $5 to $15 million from what I hear. If we were to sign Holliday we could do without ...

Like Jason Bay, Matt Holliday is choosing not to rule out any potential suitors. Holliday told Jody McDonald and Rob Dibble of SIRIUS XM Radio that he's open to signing anywhere; Newsday's Ken Davidoff has the transcript. "I've been around, and I've lived in some big cities so I would say that I'm open to any sort of coast or city," Holliday said. "Obviously I've never lived in some of the ...

Link It was on the other night and I was just in awe of how bad ass they made him in Tombstone. I don't know if that's what he was like in real life but he fucking punked everyone in that movie who crossed him. I want to be him when I grow up.

Heads up at the ticker... Gallup's Thanksgiving week results tend to confirm fears of a weak holiday sales season as consumer spending was unchanged from the prior week, even though it included Friday and Saturday of the Black Friday weekend . At the same time, Gallup's Economic Confidence Index and its Job Creation Index were essentially unchanged from the prior week. A ...

The words "Scott Boras" and "bargain" go together like "Las Vegas" and "iceberg." But Boras represents several players who are coming off injuries or subpar years and could be looking at short-term deals that might be springboards for longer contracts next winter. The list includes Xavier Nady , who's coming off Tommy John surgery; Hank Blalock , who hit 25 homers but posted a .277 on-...
