Is it possible to create a hidden file with MFC class CFile. I tried to use CFile::open(filename, CFile::hidden), but the created file is not hidden. Thanks and regards, Thomas

I have a hidden file that will not go away when I empty my trash. I can open the trash and it shows 1 item is in there. I hit "command A" and Quick Look shows the file as " ␀␀␀õ ␀␀. ␀␀". Selecting "Get Info" will make it go away temporarily. I did rebuild my directories with Disk Warrior with no luck. How can I make this go away? Thank you for any suggestions....

i put a file as hidden, and i switched it to do not show hidden files to see if it worked, and it did, so i switched it back and it's still not there and when i open the tools thing to see the option is still in do not show hidden files no matter how many times i switch

Hi, I am using windows XP SP2. yesterday I tried to remove temp files, I realize that my PC can't let me see hidden files while I select and options in folder option. so can any one help me with that? Is my PC got virus infected?

I am trying to open an xls file & a hidden file that has toolbars and macros. How can I keep the file hidden but be able to view the toolbar from the active workbook? I have removed such files using Ubuntu, downloaded as an ISO and installed on a bootable thumb drive, using Unetbootin. Such a little item is very handy and with a decent Thumb drive, is quite impressive. FWIW, MSE found and removed a trojan installed along with Unlocker on one of my machines. Moreover Unlocker does not always work, and when it does, I wonder if it is safe.....
