It appears everytime I resume from Sleep or Hibernate, my laptop(3810TZ) freezes up and I have to do a cold restart to get it going again. Which kills the point of using sleep/hibernate. It's occured ever since I got the notebook(though not as much then), and even with the latest BIOs, drivers, etc. it still hasn't helped. I haven't had time to replicate and test out why since I'm still in ...

No matter what "Power Saving Settings" I use on my s5150t or if I select it manually the cpu and monitor will hibernate for a very brief period (30 sec - 2 min.) and then cut back on without any prompting - kinda defeats the purpose Any suggestions would be helpful.

To Whom It May Concern: This problem concerns Windows XP Professional 32-bit on my laptop. It only applies after I resume Windows from Hibernate or Standby. Instead of showing the normal blue "Welcome Screen," prompting me to enter my password, it shows a tan box, like the old Windows operating system boxes, and says "Enter password to unlock computer." However, I would was wondering why ...

I have two F11/gnome desktop systems updated as of today. Previously, the gnome menu entry System -> Shutdown had alternatives for "Suspend" and "Hibernate". But at some update point, they just disappeared, leaving just the "Restart", "Cancel" and "Shutdown" buttons. pm-suspend and pm-hibernate works fine, so the hard things seems to be OK. It's just a question of having accessible where it...

Hi, The DB2Dialect in the hibernate release (http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/hibernate/core/tru nk/core/src/main/java/org/hibernate/dialect/DB2Dia lect.java) doesn't include registration for the XML column type. I can easily subclass the DB2Dialect to support XML columns but I wondered if someone had already done this and if it was released somewhere? Many thanks, Dave...

Hello, Could anyone explain to me from a theoretical or practical point of view what exactly is the difference between the Windows Vista Sleep and Hibernate options on the shutdown menu from the start button? Thanks, John Goche

Usually, hibernation (which is set as my default shutdown option in the Start Menu), takes less than a minute. Sometimes however, it takes very long. It can get up to, or even more than, 10 minutes! I accessed the Event Viewer -> Applications and Services logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Diagnostics-Performance -> Operational, and filtered for Event ID 300. There are several 'Error' and ...
