Computer crashes during games, graphic card overheating seems to be the problem. My attempt to fix this problem is to upgrade the fan and put some heatsinks on the card (duh). I bought a nice fan which came with 8 ram heatsinks. my gt130 1536mb without the fan and the metal thingie (i dont know what is called) I have never done this before and the insturctions i received suggest ...

Alright, building a PC, not going with liquid cooling, but I am going to blow a lot of money top of the line fans/heatsinks. I did a lot of research on, and when it comes to fan/heatsink cooling, the following seem to be the absolute best, based on numbers and temperature drops. I'd be using Arctic Silver thermal paste as well on my ...

I have got some OCZ Reaper Ram and the heatsink has fallen off one of the sticks. Rather than spending £20 sending them back to the Netherlands, I was wondering if it would be better to just buy new heatsinks. What would you recommend? (Heatsink wise). I'm not too fussed about the fancy OCZ heatsinks so as long as they work well with the ram, it's fine.

I have got 2 sticks of OCZ Reaper PC2 6400 Ram (2 x 2GB) and when I opened my case up this evening to test a hard drive, the heatsinks have fallen off the Ram. Would you send this back to OCZ or would you live with it? Is it safe to leave it without the heatsinks?

Is it worth the effort to remove factory heatsinks & apply new thermal grease? I was contemplating whether or not take apart a GTX 275 & remove a NB heatsink to apply some aftermarket thermal grease. Will it make a noticable difference?

so I'm buying an after market Zalman HSF for my Video Card and it comes with the heatsinks for the RAM on my Video Card, so for that, when I'm applying the Thermal Paste. Can I just use the "Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound" on both the RAM Heatsinks and the GPU HSF or do I need the "Arctic Silver Thermal ADHESIVE" for the RAM Heatsinks...

^ Subject. Because I'm planning to buy this: http://hardwareguru.com/article/jetart- ... -coolers/2 It's being sold by a local store but it only says it's compatible for the 7800 GT. My 7300 GT's fan just died and I want to replace it. (Buying from local stores is convenient --- no waiting. You might be wondering why I'm not buying online.) I have a new rig now but I'm planning to give ...

I know there's one third party cooler you can buy, but how excatly does compatibility with them work? Each video card has a unique design, right? You would need to cool different parts.

I just ordered these two items, and I read some reviews on the Freezer 7 at NewEgg that state the Freezer 7 Pro won't fit on this motherboard, GA-P55-UD4P, unless you shave down one of the heatsinks or cut some fins off the Freezer. How much cooling efficiency will be lost by cutting some of the fins on the Freezer 7 Pro?

I was reading reviews about fans in push/pull on heatsinks and radiators and I realized something... most people use two identical fans or two fans with similar CFM ratings to use for push/pull, but I don't think this would yield optimal results. The reason being a fan loses a lot of CFM if it's being blocked by so many fins on a heatsink/rad... so wouldn't it be better to use a high CFM fan for ...
