It looks like the previous owners of my truck f@cked up the brass tubes that come out of the heater core and connect to the heater hoses when they replaced the hoses. My question is, does anyone sell the tubes? or is this something that i have to get from the dealership? I've looked at all parts stores and they sell the heater core but not the tubes. The truck is an 85

I need some info on how to fix a leaking heater core on a grand marquis. Does anyone know off hand what's involved, or if there are any decent forums which would have DIYs? Bait:

Post # 1 I have to replace my heater core and was wondering where is the best place to buy one. This will be the third. The dealership replaced it once and flushed the system, then 3 months later they had to replace it again. They said it was defective. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I took delivery of my K5 today, and the heater core promptly exploded. I am having a very rough time replacing the heater core because I can't find all the bolts to get the distribution box off the firewall. Can anyone hook me up with tips on how to make the replacement easier on me? It's my first heater core replacement, so it's kicking my butt.

I don't drive the "boat" in the winter months much if at all but I had it out today on Thanksgiving to give it a final wash before a winter in the garage. I drove the car for a while after the wash and once I turned the heat on I got a fog on the windshield and a smell of coolant in the car. I'm guessing that there must be a leak in the heater core. I've never had this issue before on this or...

My heater has not worked for a long time. I already replaced the thermostat. I want to perform a heater core flush by following the DIY write-up on the audiworld forums seen here: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng115.shtml My question is do I really have to drain the coolant after I perform this heater core flush? My coolant was drained when I did the coolant temperature sensor ...

Hey everyone sorry my first post is a request for help... 1996 A4 quattro automatic This problem started with me getting no heat, and after reading through the forum I found out that clogged heater cores seem to be a common issue with the b5s. I decided to flush the heater core but first I flushed the coolant as their was a lot of gunk built up in it as well. After flushing ...

So my 2000 2.8L Passat slowly lost its heat, had a little gurgling a few months ago to the point it has zero heat now. (74k miles) I've read the heater core threads. As expected, the new shop I went to diagnosed this as a bad heater core. He quoted $650 for a thorough CLR flush, and if that doesn't do it, $1800 for a heater core replacement (total). Sounds very high to me - what should...

I have a leaking heater core and am considering replacing it. Does anyone know a source for a new or rebuilt core? Also, do you know if you can get the core out without taking the whole dash out? It looks like it should come out from the bottom after removing the console. Any advise will be appreciated Mike 1979 Datsun 620, Std Cab

In the quest to build the race car, I am getting to the point where I will be deleting the heater core and dash in preparation for finishing the front half of my roll cage. I realize the basic way to do this is just connect the inlet side of the heater core at the firewall to the outlet at the same place but I would like to take it a little further and try to clean up the whole system. As I ...
