Here is a nice set of early style 1965-74 911 heat exchangers. Can be used on later 911's as well to back date to the earlier version. Thanks Bill (704)829-0976 email billywhitesides1@aol.com

I am doing a conversion of a 1984 Carrera 3.2 from the stock heat exchangers to the SSI exchangers and I am planning to build a custom air control tube to route the SSI heat exchanger air outlets through the original hole in the engine cover. I am not the first one who does this conversion and I was thinking before I reinvent the wheel I guess the wheel has already been invented I can't ...

Ok, so I've been trying to search but this topic seems to slip through as I'm sure it's been covered before. But what I'm trying to figure out is if my heat exchangers are still good or not. I will replace them if needed but since they are expensive I would rather not. Other than rust, can they go bad? My bus sat for 4 years and the exhaust is/was not bolted on where the right HE ...

Anyone have any info on running a watercooled ac or room chiller? I read that the 3 fan room chillers work good but use alot of water. The watercooled acs use water but not as much. A natural water source like a river or stream would be perfect, but does anyone know how much they cost on average to run off of town water? If the hoods were vented well the room chiller wouldnt have to...

I have a stock 1600 at the moment. We are going to be rebuilding it soon. How far could you go engine size wise before stock heater boxes become a restriction to more horse power? Those heat exchangers with the J tubes and no heat sinks aren't an option - we want our heat .

Got a pair of these sitting in the shed and need to get rid of them for Mustang part $$. They are plumbed for a SBC, but seem to work with most other engines. Any of you guys know of a place to sell them? The tanks still have the stickers on them. The boat we salvaged was equipped with twin 300 hp 327's. Got 1 Carter AFB and the spark arresters also. Thanks Corral!

New is always best, as old ones could smell of fumes (and you dont want that in your dub). The best ones are the German made VW ones as they have double the number of fins inside than the pattern ones (including Mexican VW) and therefore give out twice as much heat. I bought a pair for my Type 1 a few years ago and the difference was amazing.

Your right. I don't have heatexchanders on my 78. On an annual inspection of a aircraft with HX's you do a leakdown test. Materials used are much lighter than the heavy cast that VW used. If the poster doesn't want to do a complet disasembly to inspect and repair, about all you can do is a leakdown test for the iner core and visual inspection on the shell. As far as getting heated air into the ...

that pipe is in muffler space. the carrera muffler clears it, but the two in, '74 style won't. i haven't figured it out yet either, so i do the backdate.
