Headgear for light sparring - Open face? For light, friendly MMA sparring, for beginners - which headgear would you suggest: Open Face or More traditional with the cheek protectors ? Also, would you consider it necessary to use shin pads for light sparring?

I recently bought a 3 yr. old RT3 smarthitch II 8'2" V plow and looks to be in great condition . I ran it in all positions and it seems fine . I think we may have played this wrong tonight. Both Itching Powder and the bad stuff for the Giant Skunk refer to "clothing and armor". After searching through the forums for a while, it appears that clothing includes footgear and headgear. Is that correct?
