thinking of pulling the trigger on a merida carbon hardtail (last year's model). Not many reviews around (other than the multivan team etc). Was wondering if anyone has any ride impressions, particularly of the flex stays.

I'm looking for a steel hardtail with disc brakes and pannier rack mounts, for under $1500.00. Components aren't that important, as I'm more than willing to upgrade as time and finances allow so the less it costs, the better. Any suggestions?

I've done a full 650b Rush and a front only 650b Prophet & I thought I would try out my xc hardtail in a front only set-up. I had a blast and it worked really well.

I need a new bike, my old mountain bike is a GT Ricohet. It needs new brakes, tires, shifters, chain, sprockets, cassette.... Not worth the investment to get the bike fixed up. I ride mostly single track in the PA area. I want an American made hardtail with disk brakes. What are my options? Cannondale appears to be the only US made bike. Jamis, Trek, Gary Fischer are all China made. Old ...

Hi all. I'm building a hardtail over the winter and need some advice. I've had a HT in the stable with a 120 or 140 mm fork up front. The extra travel is nice but i like the slacker HA on the downs. Problem is that I like climbing just as much and do not want a wandering front wheel. I've seen the paradox and think it would be sweet, but am going to try to build the lightest weight bike...

I know it's been done many times- anyone have any thoughts on this? I have a '96 Marin Pine Mountain set up SS (lx/mavic wheelset, white industries crankset, deore v brakes, cannondale post, devo saddle, bontrager crowbars, ritchey stem, jones acx 2.2s) that is my 3rd or maybe 4th bike (just for fun entirely) and I've been riding it with the original worn out judy xc and a 26" wheel as ...

Yeah yeah, I know it's cheesy. But, I had a black sticker kit just sitting around useless [I have a black spot]. I had a frame commissioned by a local Ann Arbor framebuilder [Zias Cycles], and figured since it was essentially nude, why not slap on the Turner stickers! I find it somewhat silly, but I've always wanted two Turners in my stable!

'74 CB360 Hardtail Bobber I maybe able to pick this up for 2K, apparently runs great and only needs a petcock. Kinda a small motor, but not for speed to begin with. I was thinking about tearing her down and building her up along the lines of the Hard Knock 5150 Bobber you see on the bottom or the other gem. So...concerns, thoughts, ideas..... I should say....is even worth the 2K? I've only known...

I definately am not going with a hardtail, and was wondering if anyone's done a shock set-up like the brown bike in this link. http://www.wolf-pa.us/motorcycle/cb750/cb750.htm I need some rear suspension, but was wondering if I was going to have problems by having the shocks angled dramatically like that bike. Anyone know if they'll still work to some degree or had any experience with a set...

Wondering what riders are using for races lasting longer than 4 hours. What are the pros and cons of each? Cost of setup ? Legit vs Ghetto and success of either. I have seen tires just blow off of rims. Tubes are getting me down riding hardtail. I bounce all over the place if I want to insure no pinchflats. Or I get great traction on the climbs but have to gingerly get down rocky ...
