The water in Halong bay is not so clean now. I would recommend you to monkey island and stay there 1 night in a bungalow. It is a private island so you the beach is very clean and quiet. Value for money! http://monkeyislandresort.com/

Some claim the beauty of Halong Bay is just like Catherine Deneuve's. Whether she's in bad mood (rainy) or in her best moment (sunshine & blue sky), she is undeniably a beautiful woman. Beware of the first half of March as high potential for misty days is an annual occurrence Having said, each season has its own feature but I personally like the cruse in Nov and early Dec, this is...

I still remember it because I've just taken a tour on October. nearly 4 hours (with 30mins for break). Halong is 170km far from Hanoi, and the average speed is no more then 60km per hour. Anyway, there's no way when taking such a short tour.

I will be in Hanoi in February. Like all the tourist I want to go to Halong Bay. Unfortunately I have only two days so I would like to do one of the two day tours with one night aboard a boat. My daughter was recently there and came away a little disappointed. She said they spent much of the time waiting for other people kayaking, visiting villages and not cruising, which is what...

Hi I'm not sure when on the Tet holiday, you can easily travel by your self or not. Because at that time, it's difficult to catch a bus to Halong or a junk on Halong bay. I'm not sure about it. But you can book a tour. Many tour operators still provide their service in the vacation. You can contact South Pacific travel or any other travel agent to have more information.
