trade for halladay, sign cameron for LF, put melky and swisher in a RF platoon. which team is better? one with damon in LF, and matsui DH'ing? or one with cameron in LF (grandersons bat already replaces damon's), swisher/posada/cameron/a-rod/jeter etc... rotating DH spot with halladay in the rotation? you drop payroll or keep it even too... CC, Doc Halladay, Burnett, Pettitte, Hughes would ...

If the Phillies get Halladay, is it even worth trying to upgrade this year with any expensive contracts? I say no, lets play the kids and see what we have. This has been one of the weaker FA classes in recent years if my memory serves me correctly. Let's wait until there is actually a worthwhile FA class in the offseason and in the meantime, see if we have anything in Velez, Bowker, Garko, ...

Buster Olney says that he was able to confirm the reported Halladay demands the Blue Jays made of the Yankees: Jesus Montero, Joba Chamberlain or Phil Hughes, and more. Olney also says the Yankees and Damon appear to be far apart in early contract negotiations. Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News believes the Yanks will turn to Hideki Matsui, Mike Cameron, or Mark DeRosa if Damon won't ...

Bryan Hoch, of MLB.com, reports the Toronto Blue Jays asking price for SP Roy Halladay may be too rich for the New York Yankees at the moment. ESPN.com is confirming that the Blue Jays are requesting SPs Joba Chamberlain or Phil Hughes , plus C Jesus Montero and others. The Blue Jays are especially intrigued by Montero. "I'm hesitant to move certain young players ...

Ok well the news out right now is that it may take a third teams involvement to get a trade done for Halladay and why not make that third team the Pirates. Now I don't know how well it would work but its worth a shot especially since there were rumors that the Blue Jays had interest in Doumit anyway.Let me know what you guys think because I believe that with the Pirates getting in on a trade like ...

Yankees don't want to win in 3 years? You are clueless. Of course they want to win in 3 years, but they also want to win next year and the year after that. Jesus Montero will not help the 2010 Yankees and probably not even the 2011 Yankees. Roy Halladay will. I've seen Montero play and he is just scary even as a 19 year old. He is going to get bigger and stronger. I honestly believe...

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 9, 2009 -> 10:18 AM) It also doesn't mean that Toronto can't come down in price. I agree. Isn't this one of the reasons that Riccardi was fired up there? The new G. M. may be under pressure to get what he can for Halladay, before spring training.

neither the Yank nor the Red Soxs are going to offer much for Halladay knowing they can get him for nothing (+ a billion dollar contract) next year. Why give up your prospects today for what you u get for free tomorrow?

I honestly think he will. There;'s no other fit and no other team he'll approve a trade to. Extend Lee and enjoy Halladay as a 1 year rental! Reuben has something up his sleeve.
