Hair bleaching, actually. Only highlights though. What can I do to make sure I don't lose a lot of hair post-bleaching? (Did I ask this already?) Background: I got highlights (bleached then colored) over hair that I had colored 3 months prior. I now notice that a LOT more hair comes out when I do my normal procedure of raking EcoStyler through. I'm DTing using Mango cholesterol. I should ...

What people know about hair coloring as a risk factor? Does anybody know about someone who got cancer and also has been doing hair coloring regularly for years?

Ok, I've never colored my hair myself. I've been thinking about going back to my natural hair color or as close as I can get. Since my hair is professionally (is that the correct term?) highlighted and in 2 different shades of blonde, will a box hair color, from Wal Mart, cover the blonde?

My hair is naturally a warm medium brown with some slight red undertones in the sunlight. What would happen if I put a permanent dark ash blonde hair coloring on it?

I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for it or not but I need to die my hair grey for Halloween. I am looking for some insight from people that have used various products to achieve the same. If I use Just for Men then how long will it stay grey? If I use some sort of paint (like what they use for football games) I don't want it to look too cheesey. Are there other products I can use to get ...

We are about to go on a budget at our house and I am afraid I am going to have to sacrifice my expensive foils that I get done at the salon, and have to start coloring my hair myself at home. I am kind of nervous about it, as I haven't done this before. Does anyone have any tips for a novice like me? Things to do, not to do? Certain brands that you like?...

I have had some terrible color-at-home disasters so now I refuse to do it. I actualy turned my hair orange trying to get red highlights. (I think it has to do with my hard water.) Now I pay whatever I have to in order to avoid it. I have been out of work for over a year but I still get my hair done about every 3 months.

You don't need caps and foils for highlights. I do it all the time without them. I don't do highlights on my own hair though...it's better to have a friend to that part. The coloring is easy enough to do on your own though.

you can, its fine. if you are worried do wear a mask but it still gets in your skin so it doesnt matter, but it IS okay. i used to do hair and im licensed so i know.... BUT the issue it your hormons are different and they are in your hair all over, your hair and skin changes during pregnancy, so be careful because the color you want may not be what you get....highlights usually work fine ...

As a hairdresser I don't think it matters. I colored my hair the day I got my BFP. My doctor laughed when I asked if it was a big deal... He also said that being a hairstylist and being pregnant wasn't a big deal either. As long as the area is well ventilated.

I remember when I visited my 70-year-old aunt, who still looks amazing, and I asked her what the secret was to looking young. She said "Color your hair." Since then I've noticed that it's true. Older women who color their hair seem to look about 10 years younger than they actually are. If you had asked me 10 years ago if I would ever get highlights, I would have told you that I ...
