I have been spending SO much this Christmas and wanted to save a little $ and color my hair myself. Any recommendations or brands that work well? I'm not covering gray... I have brown hair w/ a little carmel in it. Thx!

I colored my hair on Halloween and hate it. I thought about doing it again tomorrow, but I read somewhere forever ago that you shouldn't color your hair more often than 8 weeks or else you'll damage it more over time. Is there much truth to this?

Hi everyone- So I made a decision not to color my hair throughout the entire pregnancy. I usually just do it natural brown to cover the greys. I tried Henna last week and it did nothing ! Does anyone else have any suggestions for natural hair coloring? Thanks!

KT friends, I have been dyeing my hair for 10+ years now. Last night I colored it and noticed, not for the first time, that the hair nearest my face, where I am the most gray, did not take the color as well as the rest. My natural color is drab brown, a little more toward blonde than brunette, but by no means what I would call blonde. The color I am using isn't necessarily lighter or darker, ...

Looking for recommendations on which brand of home hair coloring is the best.  I have dark brown hair that was highlighted with blond over the summer and now I want it all one color again.  Which brand would you recommend?  And which color if any can you recommend?

Hair bleaching, actually. Only highlights though. What can I do to make sure I don't lose a lot of hair post-bleaching? (Did I ask this already?) Backgroung: I got highlights (bleached then colored) over hair that I had colored 3 months prior. I now notice that a LOT more hair comes out when I do my normal procedure of raking EcoStyler through. I'm DTing using Mango cholesterol. I should ...

coloring hair Hello....I was wondering what your recommendations are for hair dyes that I can pick up a local drugstore or beauty supply store. I have dark brown, obviously 3b hair, and I've never dyed it before. I am looking to get rid of a few grays. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! JOY

Replying to: hair coloring I waited until after 1st tri. But I have to have a glaze every 6-8 weeks to cover the "occasional" grey hair . It seems to be working pretty well. I go to a salon to have it done.

You're welcome. Good luck! If your hairdresser gives you any problems, ask for the manager of the salon. I had to do that once and not only got my hair color fixed, but got a gift certificate for a free cut.

Someone on the board recommended for covering gray, that she used Natural Instincts Loving Care (Clairol). It only lasts 6-12 shampoos so I thought no way - but - I tried it and it's the best ever. I use med. brown and it's so easy. Permanent color always scared me, so finding this has made me so happy. No ammonia, no peroxide, no smell - I don't have to worry about damaging my hair. I used ...
