What's the latest take on working HDV footage with Color? I know the best practice would be transcoding to Prores, but I heard that with latest Color (1.5 I guess) grading HDV could be doable. I am working with a project that was shot on HDV, but I only got given a hard drive with all the media ie. have no tapes. What would be the procedure getting HDV to Prores in my situation? ...

I'm working on a 60-minute HDV project in PP3. In addition to ~50 minutes of HDV footage, I have ~150 still images. To prepare the images before import to PP3, I do the following: * open the RAW image from Adobe Bridge...perform edits in Adobe Camera Raw...save as PSD file * open the PSD file in PShop...resize the image to ~1440x1080 pixels...sometimes larger if I expect to zoom in * ...

Hello. I've been given some Quicktime files that were shot in HDV, then captured into Final Cut Pro on a Mac, then exported to a .MOV file. I can open the file in Quicktime 7 for Windows but I can only hear the audio. I get white for video. I've tried importing the same file into Premeire Pro CS4, but it tells me I'm missing a codec. Any ideas what codec I might be missing to view this ...

I'm rather new to editing in HDV, and I want to know how to export out of Motion 3 in order to get the best possible video quality. Also, I'm used log+transfer off of a camera hard drive to bring the footage into FCP for offline editing, using the easy setup/HDV setting, is this what I should be using? I am working in FCS2. I need to compress some short videos finished in HDV into a format that maintains the quality and aspect ratio of HDV and plays easily on Windows machines, maybe with Quicktime 7.
