I tried searching this, and I'm pretty sure this has been answered, but I can't find squat. When a gunsmith ships my gun back to me, does it need to go to an FFL or can it go straight to my address?

I was just terribly dissapointed! Gunsmith who I have sent my 1911 norinco slide to along with an Ed Brown bomar sight to has replied and said he cannot install it! I have a Old Timer Goose gun, its made by revolution 36 inch tight choke barrel. My Grandpa borrowed this gun out to someone and they used it as a pry bar and bent the barrel. marlin 308 any one had experiance with it? just bought one, gunsmith wanted to try it out so i let him. he killed a deer with it and said he had to have one too. will be trying it ouit this weekend, hopefully i will know about it monday.

I was wondering if any members know of a good place to send it to get done. I've already checked with Ed Brown and a few others but they only make kits for commander and full size. I saw gunsmith did one himself on 1911auto.org/forum and it turned out nice, he did what he called a mini bobtail. So it will look somewhat like this pic.
