I just picked up the January 10 issue of Guitar Player (what! I have to shop for Yule like all the other people). The cover story is "Dtehklok rides Again" and there is ininteresting interview with Brendon Small on page 28. Good reading. I did notice one error, wherein the author mentioned that Konami had released Dethgame for the XBox 360 in July ...

Went out on a first date last night with a bass guitar player. He's 34 and by all counts, hasn't quite "grown up" yet (so I kinda doubt he'll be long-term potential, but we'll see). He sounds a bit like he's at a cross-roads in his life, though, and since I am too, I'm hoping this will be something light and easy for a while. I think it's okay for ...

I have a friend who is an avid bass/guitar player, and I'm looking to get him a nice Christmas present. I'm not sure how much I'm willing to spend yet, but let's say anything up to around $250. It doesn't matter how cheap it is if you think it's great (for example, maybe your favorite is a $20 strap). What's a good idea for an "all-around" present that would be enjoyed by almost any guitar ...

Well, i believe the title of this forum is rather self explanatory. Ive been playing electric guitar for about two months now, no lessons. Ive been using ultimate guitar(dot) com to get my songs from, but due to my inexperience i havent successfully finished a song. If you were in my shoes,(or if you have been in my shoes,) what songs do you suggest i try? I have a chromatic tuner, so i can tune ...

I have been learning off a 40 year old budget acoustic for the past while and want to get an electric. There's a really nice ESP Viper 400 on the internet for about 800 bucks less than what it cost new, 2 years old and good condition, at the top of my price range (at $600 NZD) but still affordable. I really like the sound of this guitar and its had good reviews, only it has extra jumbo frets. ...

Who would you choose The guitar player HAS to be alive,by the way A good OP goes first,so I choose Joe Satriani Tied with Hendrix as my favorite guitarist ever, this magnificent player has also taught the likes of Steve Vai Kirk Hammet Alex Skolnick Larry LaLonde Joe took up the guitar right after Hendrix died, which makes so much sense :)

Priest still rocks. And can get gigs and fill arenas nowadays. Not sure if Twisted Sister could as a headliner. Saw Priest and Testament a year and a half ago. Awesome concert. Oh...my brother is 7 years older than me...no doubt Priest was the better band...I was young and Twisted Sister was ...IDK...fun i guess... But as i said i worshiped Maiden...had every poster to every ...

Here! My friend wanted me to join his band and they were ready to tour in a couple months so they really needed a bass player (instead of two guitarists and no bass player) so I said "Fuck it!" Ever since I've been primarily a bass player and then a guitar player. I like playing bass more in band setting and guitar in my alone time. Then I remind myself that I can't play guitar for shit so I ...
