Look how tightly he is holding that poor grub I hope they catch him soon. He is quite distinctive looking and I am sure it wont be long before the authorities have a name and he can be locked up. Keep em peeled. http://blogs.reuters.com/oddly-enoug...grubs-3001. jpg...

With ice season (finally!) just around the corner, I took a stroll across the street and picked some goldenrod galls. Inside those galls are goldenrod grubs, a great ice fishing bait for panfish. I just keep the galls in my fridge's crisper drawer until I am ready to use them. Then I cut the galls open and extract the grub, which I keep refrigerated in sawdust. I have found they work better ...

Lawn Grubs They're taking over my yard! This is the first year I've ever seen them, and it's usually only one or two on the patio after a hard rain. Well, it's been pouring here non-stop since Tuesday evening so there's a big ole puddle in the back yard, filled with dozens of lawn grubs. They're giving me the heebie jeebies. __________________ Be happy...

I was pulling out my summer veggies, and adding compost/turning my soil in my raised beds to prepare for fall plantings, and found a TON of white grubs. I'm talking 30+ in one 8sq. ft. box! Are there any organic/non-toxic methods I can use to get rid of the remaining grubs, and prevent them from coming back? TIA!

I read about grubs in compost and it sounds like they are helpers. Many suggest taking them out and feeding to birds but that means I have to get them out and that just isn't right, yuck. Is there any harm to just leaving them in and spreading out the compost in the garden?

Last Wednesday, we woke up to find ~200 sq. ft. of our front lawn really chewed up. It looked like someone tried to aerate it and couldn't control the machine. I wandered around our cul-de-sac and saw 2 other lawns out of 6 that had minor versions of what happened to ours. Thursday night, after our Christmas lights were off for the night, my wife saw a rabbit sitting on our driveway, but I ...

Wow this post really brought back some memories. I along with a good friend who as since passed set our pheasent hunting trips around the best golden rod fields. It is funny how when the sunnies are being picky that a golden rod grub will do the trick. Sifty
