I am looking for restaurants in all price ranges that make it a point to use local ingredients. I am wondering if there are any ethnic restaurants in this category.

From what I've read, I really want to try GFB in my diet. The problem is that it seems you have to buy almost $400 worth everywhere I look. I can't afford that at one time... I don't know how much I would like it. If it's that great, then I would try to budget it. My question is- Does anyone know where you can buy smaller amounts of GFB? I'm in the midwest. My favor is- If the ...

Hey heads up Figueroa Produce In Highland Park is now stocking Grass Fed Free Range Beef from Open Space Meats. We had a rib eye last week and it was excellent. Way better than whole foods. They also have free range organic air chilled chix that I have yet to try. Add to that their excellent selection of fresh (some organic) veggis and this little market is a gem He is also carrying coffee ...

The Fernandina Beach Farmer's Market now has grass forage beef from Deep Roots Meats in Madison, Florida. We have tried the hamburger and sirloin and they are very good. These folks do not use growth hormones or ...

You are correct sir. Although I understand there is a practice in the U.S. (where grass-fed commands premium prices) of raising cattle on grain and then giving them some short period of grass feed in order to market the meat as grass-fed. I'm surprised grass-fed beef is so hard to find here when it is everywhere in the U.S. Only a matter of time.

Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 11:24 AM by trotsky We buy 1/8-cow packages from a local farmer who raises his cows 100% grass-fed, no antibiotics, no hormones. Best beef I have ever had - and it spoiled me. I can no longer order steaks at a restaurant, since even the best cut of grain-fed beef is inferior to the T-bone of a grass-fed cow. We eat bison from a ranch in Wisconsin too, now ...
