Does anybody know how somebody builds their Glycogen Stores if they have Insulin Resistance? I understand the concepts of building Glycoge Stores though is there something I need to eat more of to keep those energy levels up. I am also a body builder. Does insulin resistance affect muscle growth and building muscle? If so how can I get around this? Does anyone recommend a good book. ...

I know carbohydrates fill up glycogen stores or even protein, when needed, but what about when we are on deficit diet? Does all calories we consume be used for bodily functions, leaving our glycogen depleted? Reps for studies

I have read a great deal about how when you begin a new diet the first drop in numbers on the scale is not fat loss, but is glycogen loss. I am quoting a friend of mine below. Is this fairly accurate? Does that mean that only 1 pound of weight loss is glycogen/water and the rest of my weight loss is fat and some muscle? "Carbohydrate is stored in the liver and muscles as glycogen for use ...

document.write(' '); If so, would it be a good idea to chuck down a bottle of coke before a morning ride? Will all that carb go into restoring my glycogen store or just turn into fat?

Just read in my nutrition text that glycogen stores can only account for "a few hours at most during exercise" before them become depleted. Everyone always says not to worry about glycogen depletion during a workout unless you're an endurance athlete and that PWO replenishment really isn't important. Any truth to what the text says?

I have been reading some posts and people are talking about glycogen weight. It is usually in relation to coming off VLCD. Just wondering if anybody knows what it is? I will ask question on CD forum too and post here if I get answer.

After having been doing my new diet for a while (carb sources ONLY from plants - veggies, fruits, nuts seeds), I notice that I still have the same amount of energy, still increasing my reps, weight, even though my carbs have lowered from sometimes being over 300 grams a day to 150 grams a day. This tells me I don't need anywhere near that amount of carbs? Not only that, but I feel that I feel WAY...

I finished training at about 5. Drank my 50g whey isolate immediately. Then I went and started dicking around and soldering stuff for a while, and it wasn't until 7 o'clock that I realized I still hadn't eaten a banana, so I ate it. What exactly is the size of the window, and what happens if you just blow past it? Do you lose size, or you just won't be as swole, or what?

1) 30 sec. after you drop your last dumbbell 2) You will die Seriously, since you don't deplete totally your glycogen store, you don't need fast carb and prot right after your WO. The skeletal protein synthesis is increased between 5H and 24H-48H (from what I read). It depends also a lot on your pre-WO. So, eat some carbs and prot if you are hungry. If not, wait your next meal, you ...

ok so BCAAs and whey protein cause a significant insulin response, but obviously don't replenish glycogen. I've theorized that taking BCAAs before meals and then using whey along with your whole protein source could be pretty effective for preserving strength and mass on a TCD or straight keto. this was sort of touched on in IA's "best diet" thread, but there wasn't much discussion on how ...

This may be a dumb question, but I'm currently taking a shake PWO that consists of whey, creatine mono, and a glycogen supp ( Ignition :: Post Workout Nutrition by 1st Phorm ) mixed with water. Anyway, here's my question. I'm moving around a lot right now, and rather than lugging all three tubs around with me from place to place, I'm wondering if it would be okay to pre-mix a week's worth ...

So after literally sifting through every page of search results for "keto cardio" I still don't know how much cardio is too much. From what I understand the general consensus on HIIT is not to do it because it eats into your glycogen stores which you want to be saving for lifts. So I won't be doing that anymore. As for LISS some people say an excessive amount will eat into your muscle but...

I mean with protein synthesis and all that you cannot change it repairs the muscle, but does the lack of carb/fats (extra calories) make you burn muscle instead of depleteing your glycogen (think I spelt that wrong?) storage? thanks...

Ok enough. Explain these things If everything you eat has to count, and calories in equals calories out, then why does 30 minutes of LISS do more for fat loss than HIIT in a ketogenic state? If LISS cardio is best for ketogenic diets because of having no glycogen makes you catabolic if you do HIIT cardio for 20 minutes, then why can we work out with weights for over triple the amount of ...
