My doctor and I will review my fasting glucose data at my next appointment on December 21st. My fasting glucose is usually always below 75. We will discuss the need for me to continue the 500 mg of Metformin per day. David

Well, Kai's liver seems to be coping okay with the diet she's on and until the weekend her blood/glucose was pretty much sorted. She was vomiting Saturday evening and Sunday all day, so she had no food nor insulin. Since then her sugar levels have been, for want of another word, bollox. But oh no, not too high. Too low or normal. I tested her blood at 5pm and it wa 4.6. This was after 2...

I got a 134 on my glucose test; 135 is the cut off to send women to the 3 hour test. My midwife didn't think it was a big deal. For my 32 week appointment, I had to see an OB as my regular midwife wasn't available (military thing) and he says I need to repeat the 1 hour test. Is that standard procedure, you think? Or if you pass, do you pass? I'm waiting to get in touch with my midwife to ...

I had my one hour glucose test today and it went pretty well (at least the drink didn't make me vomit or sick). I have officially gained 26 pounds which means I am averaging a pound a week already. When I went to make my next appointment, one of the receptionists was holding a two week old baby boy and he was soooooooo CUTE!! My heart just melted and I really wanted to have my little ...

I had a 3hr glucose test this morning and I started vomiting after the 1st hour! They made the test stop and they're going to tell the doctor about it, but said I would have to reschedule it for another day to try again. I know I'm not going to be able to do this. That drink made me feel so nauseaus especially with nothing else in my stomach for 12 hours. What am I going to do???

So I took my 3 hour glucose test today. When I did the 1 hour I scored at 161. Well I fasted for the 3 hr test and they drew my fast level was 130, isnt that high? They didnt say anything and every other draw went straight to the lab that is how they do it. I am worried that I have failed just on the first draw. I know there is nothing I can do but I still worry. Any thoughts? Also for those...

I am in total shock! I went to my dr appointment yesterday and my dr was kinda disappointment because he said I barely passed my glucose test! I was "border line" is what he called it.. I scored a 135 out of 140... And he stressed to mention that they changed it because it used to be 135 but they moved it up to 140.... I really don't eat sweets but I have lately started drinking a lot of...

Hello, My mother has just been diagnosed with diabetes back in Brazil. I am looking for a glucose meter which will not break the bank. I understand that some meters can be pretty cheap upfront but then the manufacturers will charge high prices on the test strips. What glucose meters can the community suggest that are perhaps not so expensive in the long run? Thanks Tico

My mother has just been diagnosed with diabetes type 2. She lives in Brazil, where glucose monitors and test strips are very expensive. I am looking for some advice on purchasing a glucose monitor here in the US for which the test strips do not cost a fortune. Insurance does not apply - I will be sending her the meter/test strips from the US. I understand that cheap meters tend to have expensive...

If someone ate 10g of carbs and it raised BG 10 points one hour later, would 20g of carbs raise BG 20 points one hour later? (assume nothing else is consumed and activity and everything else is same in both scenarios)
