I just bought a new router, and it indicates whether a connection is connected using gigabit or whatever the slower ethernet is (I know my way around computers, but I'm not a networking genius or anything). My PC uses gigabit, but I noticed is said my 360 didn't. I connected my PS3 and it was connected by gigabit. I have a older Pro 360 (around 2007-ish), do the newer models have gigabit ports...

All the newest routers claim to have gigabit ethernet ports. Do I need to upgrade any of my computer equipment or network wiring to accomodate one of the new routers?

We have two PC, a linux box and 5 macs that are going to be on the network. They all have gig-e network cards. I am a newbie to all of this, and I was wondering what type of router can ...

As per thread title. I'm after a simultanious dual N band modern router with USB connection which supports UPNP and works on BT lines, and has gigabit ethernet connections. Essentially, the Linksys WRT610N would be perfect, but that is only for cable connections. Anyone know of anything suitable? Cheers.

I've just reinstalled a clean OS install of snow leopard 10.6.2 onto my macbook pro - early 2008. I just happened to start copying larger files around to restore my setup to where i want it to be only to notice that downloading over ethernet was proving slow. On more analysis i've confirmed cabling is fine (my old macbook gets up to 30meg/s download on the same connection on the ...

I just installed Win 7 HP on an I5-750 based system. It is a high performance configuration but the network performance stinks. The motherboard (Gigabyte) uses a realtek network chip and the network is all gigabit. My older computer using exactly the same network and server was about 10 times faster to transfer large files. Anyone have any ideas? Jim
