Trying To Conceive

Saw a different GP for a change and she asked if I had had my immunity checked, no one had mentioned this before. I know it can cause major problems if you are pregnant but I assumed the Rubella jag I had when I was at school was enough, apparently not. If you do need a booster you have to take 3 months off ttc (that's the advice in the UK now). Felt I should share this information.

I was tested for my immunity when we were TTC and I am not immune either. The Dr gave me a choice of getting the shot and waiting 3 months to try again or getting it after that baby comes. I chose to wait to get it after the baby comes. I know that getting German Measles (Rubella) can be devastating to the pregnancy but it's so very rare in the US now that I decided it would be OK to wait and ...

a month ago I had an appt with my family doctor, just a routine checkup and she sent me to get a blood test, so i went and just had the follow up appointment yesterday. she said that i was healthy except for one thing... I am NOT immune to the German Measles. I didn't ask her any questions about it because the topic switched to my pregnancy and how I couldn't get vaccinated until I was done ...

My daughter had German measles recently and my doctor told me I had to phone or write to each public place she had been to to notify them incase pregnant women had been exposed - for example the store, the swimming pool etc. I did and I imagine lots of other Mothers would do to, after all most mothers know the risks. I also know that German measles was not the cause of my MC this week  because I...

Hello Charlotte It is impossible for me to tel if your son has got German Measles or not, as i cannot see the rash. I have given you all the following information to hopefully put your mind at rest for tonight, until you can see the GP tomorrow if he is no better. If a person has German Measles (Rubella) they will develop a rash. This typically starts around the ears from where it spreads ...

At about 5 pm I notice he has a bit of a rash going on his forehead. No biggie, he has french toast for the first time today, maybe its a reaction to the cinnamon.
