I am curious as to if anyone knows of a chart like this one, that lists final gear ratios of different models, but for automatic transmissions instead of manual trannys. http://www.northursalia.com/techdocs...rannychart. pdf Long story short, I have a chance to buy a 4.44 manual trans out of a JDM legacy turbo tomorrow, but there is no rear differential to go with it. I would like to know...

gear ratios for 89+ automatic? Is the gear ratios for all 4 gears in the 89+ automatic the same as the earlier 2.20 rear end automatics? I looked in WSM but can't seem to find anything past 87S4 ratios..... I thought the 89+ cars had the 2.54 rear end + revised ratios in all the gears except 4th which is still 1-1? The ...

HEY GUYS, in my younger years i messed with full size cars, changing rear gears, cams, headers etc. When you changed gears in a full sized car for drag strip performance you would go higher numericaly 4:10 -4:56 ratios and so on depending on transmission type etc. Which brings me to the question of gearing slot cars, with no transmission. Now i understand the concept of electric motors not needing ...

> One of the first things i need to do for DIYJ is replace the rear axle. Its currently not there. This jeep started life as a 4-cyl manyal, so it's got a 4.10 in the front axle. I'm putting a 4.0 in it, and i'll probably end up at about a 30-31" tire. I can look at gear ratio charts and what they recommend all day long. What i really need is some experience ...

I'm trying to find out what the gear ratios are in my 84 GL wagon. It is a 4 speed manual 2wd with 4wd hi and low. does the ratio change when you put it in 4wd? how much lower is low than hi? If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful -Nate * Registered users of the site do not see these ads....

Hi. I am new to the forum and have just had to have a new clutch and reconditioned gearbox fitted to my 2001 MkII Punto 1.2 16v 5 speed. I don't know if it is my imagination, but it now seems lower geared and is doing 3000 revs at 60mph in 5th gear. Does this seem right?

I have a '99 Legacy BH 2,5 GX 5MT, which has a 3,700 (open) rear diff. The front diff has the same gear ratio. There are Subaru LSD diffs with 3,700 ratio, but they seem to be either old and rare (SVX) or rare (a narrow range of 01-02 Impreza RS had those). I noticed that some Impreza's GT, WRX and STi come with different gear ratios front / back (3,900 / 3,545). If that works ...

> quote: Originally posted by JM93LiftedYJ My YJ has 4.10s and Rubicon tires. I think its perfect. Before I had 3.07s and it was terrible. gas mileage is meh, but drivability (don't think thats a word) is great. The smurf had 3.07's before i put in the 4.10's. And that was on 33's. It was certainly drivable, but i dont remember what my mileage was. I ...

Brian, You probably already know this, but I'm just winding-up a swap. 89 Auto box into 84 Auto. Tight due to TC and TC cover being about 1 inch greater in diam than 84 unit. But it fits with a little bit of clearance. If for you LeMons racer, then you will need the 89 Bowden cable to which you make an engine-side mod....

Well, today I met with Tony the mechanic and I decided to stick with AFMSX so that I can put the "extra" funds into the suspension. Tony agreed that the car was quick . There are advantages to the short gears and 2.7 RS spec engine.

We all hate the short 1st gear, but I am currently spinning 3.73s in my car and I love them. Going with a numerically higher gear (say 3.08 to 3.73) will make all the gears in the trans "closer" together, and that is a good thing.

thanks for the effort but not much there on the Outback. I have figured out that it's a 4.44 ratio now but still don't know what the ID tag's tell if any thing .
