I have a 2000 TJ auto with stock gearing. (3:73's?) Not sure, but want to rre-gear for the 33's and maybe 35's. I would like a gear ratio that will handle both in case I go to 35's and decide they are too big. The 4Wheel Parts guy says I want 4:88's but that seems too big for the 33's. Wouldnt 4:56 gears be the best for either 33's or 35's? Thanks for your help, guys. Mark

Not sure if this is possible, but hell, it can't hurt to try. I know a tranny rebuild is in my future but I'd like to see if there is a way to change the gear ratios in 5th and 6th gear to help with highway cruising speeds. Since I changed the rear gear to a 3.73, 5th gear is my cruising around town gear but at highway speeds (75mph) I'm sitting around 2k RPM in 6th gear. Anyone have ...

Just purchased an '03 short wheel base 2 wd f-150, with the 4.2 and auto tanny. The decal on the door says the rearend is a #19. Can anyone tell me what ratio that is? Register today or sign-in to remove these ads!

Got a 02 it has the stock gearing, it is FX4 5.4L with 3.55, I tow a 19' boat, thinkig of going to 4.10 gears. I have a E350 van and it has 4.10 gears, and the van is loaded heavy, I towed my boat with the van and noted that it towed allot better, it also has the 5.4 L engine. What does it cost approx. to swap gears? And were would you go for gears?...

my roommates 07 wk 4.7 just threw an engine code p0732 which is "2nd gear ratio incorrect" i have never encountered this code before and have no clue where to start with this problem... is this a common problem with the WK's? what are ur guys suggestion on where to start??

I am installing a 8.8" diff in a 2,100 lbs car with a 302 pushing 260 or 280 hp and a world class T5. Originally I was thinking of installing 2.73s because I did not think I needed that much torque of the line. Then I changed my mind to 3.55s or 3.27s, but know I am flopping back to 2.73s. The car will be driven daily and with the 2.73s I could do the 1/8th mile in just about 2 shifts. ...

Hi guys , might sound silly but its a new thing for me, What ratio is used on the gear boxes on the doug wright 32 used in x,cats , i been told they are not using the 1.87 , is this true pls ? , props on the engines are 30pitch herrings . Ime abit lost when it comes to ratios and props pitch. many thx.

yea we loved racing guys with the limited slip cause while both of my tires hooked at the same time and left equally, theirs was playing catch up... think about it you are loosing half your power with a one wheeler....

auto tranny rodeos were 4.10 the 10-bolt is the same for troopers and rodeos and Vehicrosses (just be sure to match the ratio you want ..... duh) the brackets for the 10-bolt are different for some years. I posted that up awhile back... need to search for it.
