I have a 2006 STi with 27,000 miles. It is due for diff/tranny fluid change. I already know what to put on the rear diff. Since I have a 2006, the rear diff. has clutches which need special friction modifiers, so I will stay with the OEM Subaru LSD 90 oil (Part No. K0305Y0900 ). So, no issues there. The "confusion" is with the front diff/tranny fluid. I was under the impression that the OEM ...

As stated in the "How to Change Diff Oil" & "Tranny Oil" treads, I just recently changed my gear oil using Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Gear Oil 75-90. To my surprise, as I was pouring the first quart container of oil I noticed a black residue as I was getting to the last drop of the bottle. This residue looked like if someone had dropped cigarrette ashes inside the oil. This substance, which ...

I just bought a 1998 r1100r and I'm trying to replace the fluids. I can't get the gear oil drain plug loosened. It's a 6mm hexhead bolt and I can't break it lose to save my soul. So far I broke a 6mm socket. I can only get heat on it from right side of the bike. Has anyone run across this problem before. Thanks richar Stutz

As my 1966 C-10 approaches the year-end, I will be treating it to some new transmission and differential lubricants. The auto shops keep guiding me to the 85w-90 gear oils and I know it's been around for some time. The factory manuals say to use 80 or 90 mineral oil, but no multi-viscosity or EP oils. What is the consensus of this group? I remember having to hunt down straight...

I had this in reserves to service my 07 STi. I have since sold the car. Three of them are unopened, the fourth is about half full. On "subaru genuine parts" these are $18 a liter plus shipping. I will do all of them for $50 shipped. https://www.chaplinssubarugenuinepar...oducts_id=1 063

My Honda manual for my 750ACE is written very clearly in English. So far, I haven't seen any problems with translation; not even a misspelled word or punctuation error. I noticed on the back cover it reads: "Printed in the U.S.A." so maybe the ones printed here don't have the translation problem........... Phil _________________ Sterling Heights, Michigan

Hey guys anyone have any ideas why my oil light flickers when accelerating from first gear? I don't or drive my card hard so this would be normal acceleration. It only happens in 1st. Could it be an oil pressure issue? I don't know much about cars, so any advice is welcomed.
