hi can you please help me make a balanced chemical equation liquid butanol (C4H10O) and gaseous oxygen? i thought it was C4H10O (l)+ 6O2 (g) -> 4CO2 (g) + 5H2O but its not? thanks!

I've been told one can use gaseous N2 for a blow-down pressurization system for LOX/RP or LOX/CH4 pressure fed rockets in place of He or Tridyne. Conventional wisdom seems to be that N2 is a poor pressurant as it is heavier than He and it will dissolve in the propellants, causing a significant loss in Isp. Yet, I've also heard it claimed N2 is good alternative to He if you do not pressurize ...

Quote from: OV-106 on Today at 05:10 PM Well with Lox you could use gaseous O2 to pressurize. With methane, if you store it as a gas, you don't need a pressurant. Helium does absorb into propellants over time as well and with all things in engineering, it's a trade off and what type of pressurant to use and the type of aquisition system you want (screens, bladder/diaphragm separting the...

I understand that liquid water cannot exists on Mars for extended periods of time because: a) The atmosphere is too thin b) Resulting in a lower boiling point water c) Which leads to sublimification of solid ice into gaseous vapour Quite specifically , I would like to understand the following: 1. Why a lower atmospheric pressure reduces ...

Has anyone done this? I've decided the gaseous maximum effect of all the sugar alcohols & even stevia to a lesser extent is not work it. But long-term I don't want to use powdered splenda either. I presume it's OK to import as you can get the davinci & torani syrups that use it. Any & all info greatly appreciated.

JBII CEO has said from the beginning that all OTHER plastic to fuel companies have this problem....because they lack JBII's catalyst which results in very little pollutants. > > The air emissions from the boiler unit that burns the gaseous content released from the proccess are a serious issue. There can be a lot of Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) in a mixed bag of melted or reacted plastics (...

Biofuel Biofuel is a frequently used term for environmentally conscientious or alternative types of fuel, and is sometimes used synonomously with biodiesel. Biofuel comes in various forms including liquid, solid, or gaseous fuel and comes from “recently” dead biological material. With the renewable attributes, biofuel differs from traditional fossil fuels that are derived from long dead ...

QUOTE(stangbat @ Dec 12 2009, 03:50 PM) If the cylinder only had gaseous CO2 inside, then we could use the Ideal Gas Law to approximate the PVT relationship, correct? Yes, that's the point where the high pressure gauge starts dropping. QUOTE You mention that nitrogen closely follows the ideal gas law, but if it were under the same conditions as with a CO2 cylinder, wouldn't it...
