I'm pretty new to Ogre still, and am having problems finding all of the addons I need for a complete, CROSS-PLATFORM game engine. Ogre covers the graphics segment of the engine, but I still need libraries that are both Windows and Mac compatible for the following items: Sound Input Collision-Detection (physics are not necessary, just collision detection) Networking Does anyone have any ...

A little help goes a long way... First.. Using Your DS/DSi Ensure Your Internet settings On Your DS/Dsi are Configured. Using The New Software Version V1.13b Insert Your R4i Card Click on the new Games Engine icon on the right hand side... The game engine will connect to the internet automatically (if it doesn't check your WiFi settings) You will then notice an ID number appear ...

Hi! I'm looking for a free, easy-to-use game engine written in Objective-C. I'm a beginning game developer (but I know how to use Objective-C), and I don't have the money for expensive engines... Tutorials would be nice too ;-) Yvan

You dudes are sooo misinformed and have zero knowledge of the development-cycle process. To all those wondering why the NHL team doesn't develop a new game engine yearly, here's your answer.... It's unfeasible. They have about nine months a year to plan and develop an NHL game. Here's how it works: every console generation they develop the base game engine, then every year after of ...

In a new Intel-sponsored feature article, game journalist John Gaudiosi goes in-depth on the history, production, and implications of HDFilms' upcoming Unreal Engine 3-powered web series Chadam. In the article, which is part of Intel's Visual Computing section on Gamasutra, series producer (and original Monolith Productions founder) Jason Hall comments at length on the reason for going with a ...

There has been a thread made about the Halo:Reach trailer being in-engine, but not in-game, the thread has since died, but the debate is a valid one. Back in E3 2006, bungie revealed the teaser trailer for Halo 3, then one year later at E3 2007 showed off the campaign trailer and the game was being shown with graphical changes, but nonetheless it was the same engine. My concern over this is ...

Well there's cocos2d and there's an iPhone version. I don't know if there's really a "Mac" version, but it's all cross platform foundations by the looks of it. http://cocos2d.org/ The only other 2D-focused engine I know of that I'd recommend is Torque 2D, but it's currently being majorly rewritten. The new version will be a lot nicer than the current one, and I'm not sure how different ...
