24" X 16" Wood, galvanized steel and rust on plywood. I've started to make real versions of the digital marquetry work that I showed here a while back.

I have a contractor that would like to place a galvanized column directly onto a pad footing below grade instead of bring a concrete pier above ground. What is the easiest way to protect the galvanized column from the soil? Is the galvanizing enough? Probably not.

Hi All - I have a client questioning the use of galvanized attachment hardware on weathering steel poles. I found an old post questioning this very thing "MikeDB (Structural) 11 Feb 04 10:42 The January 2004 issue of Modern Steel Construction had a "Steel Interchange" response by Keith Mueller on design considerations for weathering steel structures. Several of the recommendations, which ...

After having seen a few Land Rovers with galvanized bumpers, I have been interested in the possibilities for the rest of us. Most any steel can be hot-dipped, so the process is possible, but how well will it work? Anyone with experience, or opinions is welcome to jump in. Dale

I have a 70-year old home and need to renovate an old master bath due to a shower pan leak. The room has been gutted, and it looks to this uneducated eye as if almost everything is galvanized steel, except for two hot and cold lines heading up to the attic bathroom, which look yellow like brass rather than dark gray. My contractor is recommending replacing with copper the galvanized...

I stumbled across this today. I think its a little nicer looking than the galvanized pipe idea, and doesn't require table space. I have two lamps so I might try it. http://chrismetcalf.net/blog/archive...peaker-stan ds/

Sorry if this thread isn't appropriate .. Was going to ask a plumber today but had to cancel (too poor!) Just wondering, based on experience, what range I might be looking at to completely redo the piping, and the bathroom, of my old cottage. I ask because I have old galvanized (I believe) pipes that get horrible water pressure. The bathroom wasn't built in 1901 like the house, but I have no ...

I built a multi-level deck using the evolutiondeck galvanized steel structure, finished in granite stone pavers. This is the best investment you can make in a deck - long life and maintenance free forever. see www.evolution-deck.com .

I have a galvanized trailer that is in decent shape. The frame has absolutely nothing wrong with it, but the fenders, bunks, and the swivel wheel in the front are all rusted and nasty. I was thinking about taking the trailer to a repair shop. Anyone have any suggestions? I want this to be as cheap and efficient as possible. Thanks
