The first time I had GRITS was in the military. I was down south for basic training. They spooned this load of mush into a bowl. Being a Northener, I was like "What the heck is THAT!?" Someone told me to put some butter on it. I did, and I got HOOKED! I love grits. Never had real, homemade grits, only restaurant and Army chow grits. Do you make grits?

Anyone know the value for grits? My dad made some the other day I have left over (made with chicken broth) but have no clue as to how much they are for say 1/2 cup or 1 cup. I looked in my WW book but grits were not listed.

I am hearing good (but some 'mixed') reviews on 2nd Street. Is it worth a shot. I have read one review that raved about their Shrimp and Grits (which I have never had before). Any other recommendations for good eats around Williamsburg are also much appreciated!

i went to walmart this morning and there was a 5 lb bag of white hominy grits on the clearance rack. We eat grits with eggs or ham for breakfast at times. when i got home the birds had emptied the suet tray so i made up a batch of mix with lard and peanut butter and grits and just put it out Image link: flicker loves grits (40 k)

After playing some alcohol games, downing a smooth cindy, and then half of another one and a shot of vodka, im now sitting here while my lovely dh makes my ass some grits =] mmmmm. maybe that will settle my icky tummy. im such a damn southern girl =] and yet, with a face like that, can one truly ever be mad???
