I recall you asking about GISS. One thing I have learned about GISS is that they have a cut off date of the 8th of each month. After this date nothing is changed for the previous month and nothing earlier either. This means they never incorporate any back data and they don't get the second tranche of CLIMAT data which comes about the 16th of the following month. Countries like Paraguay and ...

http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2009/11/media -ignores-c... Today, on behalf of the Competitive Enterprise Institute, I filed three Notices of Intent to File Suit against NASA and its Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), for those bodies refusal for nearly three years to provide documents requested under the Freedom of Information Act. The information sought is directly ...

GISS(Goddard)works cooperatively with area universities and research organizations, most especially with Columbia University. Close to half of our personnel are members of Columbia's Center for Climate Systems Research

Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930s. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/dec/03/re searcher-s...

Chris Horner is a researcher? I don't think so. He's a lawyer. ____________ Who better to detect BS and Fraud than one who has been trained in the art of BS and Fraud?

Giss , NCDC and CRU collaborate to make Pielke's position untenable, forcing him to resign from their enterprise. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/11/26/climatgate-p ielke-seni...

ClimateGate: What are the Alarmists So Afraid of? by Christopher C. Horner The alarmists? reaction to CEI?s Notice of Intent to Sue NASA?s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) for withholding data?now for nigh on two years?has been particularly shrill, as regards my inquiry into the clearance and other deliberations over the non-official activities for the nasty, deceptive, third-party...

Again: the date of that e-mail, the missing bit and the previous e-mail i.e. the one it is answering would give it some more context. Have you got any of them? Here http://www.eastangliaemails.com/emails.php?eid=104 2&file... DOW

Shocker – CRU’s Jones: GISS is inferior 29 11 2009 I was working on another project related to the CRU emails and came across this email from Dr.Phil Jones. I was stunned, not only because he was dissing another dataset, but mostly because that dissing hit many of the points about problems with the NASA GISS products we’ve covered here on WUWT and at Climate Audit. Here’s the ...

Interestingly, Hansen's GISS database has been more open than CRU/Hadley's, which is how McIntyre and other critics found the mistakes that made Hansen admit that the warmest year of the 20th century was 1934, not 1998. Before now, nobody could get a close look at CRU's database. I don't think they will now either, since CRU is still claiming they threw away the raw data, which I don't ...

Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 10:34 PM by Psephos I did not say that the scientists are corrupted (that's a separate issue). I said the data. By incompetence in some cases, malice aforethought in others, and generally by a lack of standards in code development and maintenance. Forget the scientists...it's the data and modeling code by which the fate of nations hangs. This isn't my opinion. ...

CRU is being attacked because the people behind CRU are politically active, they have a website, they debunk claims. The problem here is that people don't understand that science is an evolved process. Some people make mistakes, some people fuck up, it is the entirety of the data that tells the truth. I personally think CRUs involvement with debunking deniers has clouded their judgment *...

In this case it's mostly innuendo. When those datasets had to be readjusted, there was an obvious failure on part of the scientists (it didn't screw the graphs up either way, though, and bias was not indicated in any way, just a mistake).
