Hi All, I have a core of an multi-threaded application. when i check all the threads it shows me that many threads are blocked for taking a mutex lock. In GDB how I can identify that thread which is holding the mutex lock. In dbx I can do that using thread -blockedby but in GDB i am not getting how I can do that. there are more than 100 threads so i cannt check every thread stack....

This is mostly a repost from Stack Overflow, with some edits to bring it more up to date. I ran in to a (in my eyes) very strange issue with gdb today, while trying to write a more C++-ish version of the reverse() method of my string class (all for learning, of course). Despite having a proper default constructor that initializes all member variables to 0, they start out as gibberish inside ...

Is it possible to debug a PPC binary on 10.6.2 using the version of gdb that comes with Xcode 3.2.1? I have been sifting through the internet for a couple of hours now and have not seen this question asked anywhere. Currently this is what I am trying to do. I 'cd' into the directory of the PPC binary within the PPC.app directory. I then launch gdb using gdb -arch ppc program Some ...

I'm using gdb to debug my program. My program requires arguments (e.g., ./prog -dfile). But if I use gdb as in gdb ./prog -dfile, gdb wants to interpret the -d argument. How do I pass an argument to my program via gdb?
