Hi all I currently have a rebel/400D and a Tamron 17-50 F2.8 which has been great for me, but I really do want much more detail and higher IQ from my images. Been looking at the new 7D but the pixel density scares me! and the pics I have seen have mostly been wildlife shots - and most of those look quite grainy. So if I decide bite the bullet and get a trusty 5D Mk II what lens would you ...

So far I heard that there are no local pro. photographers using Sony A900/850. The reason they feel Sony full frame is like a "new kid on the block" comparing to old timers like Nikon or Canon. Is that true? Loius Pang uses Nikon... Please comment.

You here so damn much about FF on these forums. Is it overblown? I shoot with a 40D and a 5D regularly and I like to experiment with both. Here are a few comoparisons and observations.... FF offers: 1. Better high ISO performance (may or may not matter depending upon what you shoot). 2. 50mm acts like 50mm. Both a pro and a con in my book. Sometimes I love being a little farther...

I am interested in a moderate wide angle prime lens for my D300. I like small and fast lenses and when shooting I want to be as inconspicuous as possible. I have read that nikkor 24mm 2.8D isn't sharp and not good lens on digital APS-C sensor... I don't know if it's really the case. Moreover, the lens is quite pricey for such aperture prime lens. Zooms cover this range, but aren't fast enough or...

I shoot a 5D classic so naturally I'm biased towards full frame files. But it is a big camera and sometimes I don't want to lug it around. A compact G12/G13/G14 full frame would be very ideal. Is it really THAT impossible to make?

Hello, I was wondering if in the future Pentax releases a full frame camera will the limited primes work with it or are they tailored specifically for the APS-C? I assume that the trend will be fore the full frame to become the standard and I would have to loose the advantage of the limiteds. Regards,

[Possibly boring background... When I belatedly graduated to DSLR, I got a crop-body Canon. I knew I wanted at least one prime lens so I got the cheapest, the 50mm. Right away I was an enthusiast for fast primes (which were the norm earlier in 35mm film days, say, the 70s). My cheapo lens was the single biggest factor enabling shots that I couldn't get before, especially at live performances. I...

Hi all, I am a bit dissapointed. My trusty old Sigma 70-210 2.8 which I have been using from 1995 (F4s) through to today (D200) is vignetting badly on my brand new D700 even with: 1) No filter or hood 2) Vignetting control set to high in the D700 menu It is worst at 2.8 and almost gone by F8. Well that is no good to me, this lens is sweet at 2.8 on my D200. Shot thousands of snowboarding pics ...

I have a G1 and a fz28, they are both really great cameras. With an adapter I can use old canon FD lenses on the G1, but with a 2x crop. Does anyone think that panasonic will do the same, but with a full-frame sensor one day, or are they purely a consumer-grade manufacturer?

I'm looking to puchase a new bike. Any strong feelings about whether I should opt for a carbon or aluminum frame on a full-suspension bike? Anyone have history riding the Trek Fuel EX 9 or EX 9.8 specifically? Thanks for any input you can provide.
