2002 FF Sedan, not even 200mi out of full tank My Ford Focus sedan (not sure what trim) gets under 200mi for a full tank, I figured even with my decent, un-aggressive driving I should get around 200-some miles. It's a 2002, supposedly only has 20,000miles on it (although the seller was pretty sketchy so its possible it has been ...

Thats right! I managed 505 miles on a full tank in my 1996 MGF (petrol was 107.9) - now, thats what I call economical. OK, I know its a sports car and I should be thrashing it around but I drive 100 miles a day for work so need to keep costs down. At an average of around 60mph, mainly motorway driving, I got 505 miles!

The check engine light comes on in my 98 Rodeo every so often. It happens when I reach around 60mph after I fill up the tank completely. I keep thinking that I did not tighten the cap enough so I've been resetting the check engine light and ignoring this for... well, ok for years. It seems to be happening more often lately and the last time I really made a point of tightening the gas cap ...

Hi everyone, Hoping someone can point me in the right direction to fixing this, have never been disappointed on this forum yet The situation is for the first week after I fill my car with petrol I get fumes in the cabin. Today I also spotted a patch of dropped petrol on the ground under the right rear wheel assembly, was quite dirty in colour too but that could be from mixing with ...

I agree about short trips. My '01 ZX3 does only 16-17 mpg in the winter with 100% city driving - I have only 2 miles to work. However, in the summer, on a 30 miles highway trip, with A/C I get 32-33 mpg. So, I think it's normal. BTW, I have an A/T.

270 miles from my place to Dover FT with the hooners & at a steady 75-80 i'd do it with just under a 1/4 tank left. -------------------- "Agreed, but she wants someone to shove a fist up her arse, not read her poetry" LTB on MSN I'm being stalked. I'm flattered. "One crowded hour of glorious life is worth an age without a name."

After a 483 mile tankful of ordinary 'A' road commuting last year, I managed to put 53.75litres into the 50 litre tank - it was well below the red mark on the guage. I have never consciously tried for the 500 but thought it must be fairly easily achievable if actively trying throughout a long journey. Theoretically a VVC would find it easier than an MPi - Well done you! Is that the first known ...

My mechanic says the problem is a canister purge solenoid staying open. Will cost upwards of $300 to fix. Now that I know the problem I see that others on this board have had the same issue. Thanks again for your help.
