I have recently installed a autometer fuel guage (and yes it is the correct one) but i am having trouble getting it to read correctly. when i would turn on the key it would go far past full, but i discovered today that the 6 pin connector that usually connects to the fuel pump is just dangling (it has a different 'canister' style pump") and when i use a jumper wire in the connector i can get the ...

Did a search and couldn't find the numbers. What are the resistance values for an '87 Cherokee Fuel Sender? Fuel and Empty. My gauge reads very very lazy and I'd like to start diagnosing it. Thanks -Paul

on my 2004 I recently noticed that even though my guage needle was on the "E" my low fuel light was not on. When I fueled the car it took only 14.8 gals of fuel. Is the guage off that much? I never drive my car that low but I believe when the car was delivered to me the low fuel light was on. Don't remember how much it took to fill it as I was way to excited to wory about that! Help?

Looking for some advice please, when i got the defender 90 (93 Reg) i was told the fuel gauge was always stuck on full so use the mileometer, then all of a sudden one day the fuel gauge showed empty and the warning light came on. On further investigation, and i think i'm looking in the right place, under the drivers seat on top of the tank i can see there is an electrical switch and connection ...

I just realized that my fuel gauge has been acting up. About 1/4 of the time, it will work, and give me the accurate reading, and the rest of the time, it's just nothing. Any suggestions as to what it might be? Checked some fuses, and they all looked fine. Also, my gauge cluster lights are real dim at night. Is there any way to brighten them up even though the knob has already turned them ...

Runs empty most of the time . Checked wiring , Installed new pump module still have gauge at a 1/4 tank ? I have a snap on scanner it shows 58 % full , Iam thinking the gauge is bad ! Test drove van after the new pump was installed , shut the engine off and started it back up and the gauge started working showing a little over 1/2 tank > Any ideals would be nice !

This morning my fuel guage suddenly just stopped working. fine one sec, then flat on the pin the next, it's got fuel in it, put some more in anyway, cars running fine but no luck. Any ideas on where to check? What pins in the connector to the pump check the level etc?? Don't have a haynes book of lies so have no reference. Cheers in advance!!!

So as part of washing out the rust inside my fuel tank, I removed the petcock and the fuel gauge sender. When I put everything back together I initially put the sender unit in rotated 90 degrees, thinking the wire lead was supposed to point straight back towards the seat, but then realized (when the unit wouldn't really fit in that way) that I should check the diagram in the Clymer book again, ...

My wife's gas gauge started working intermittently a couple of weeks ago. Usually just restarting the car would fix the problem, but last week it stopped working completely after filling up the tank for a road trip. I have looked for a sending unit online unsuccessfully. Someone had mentioned that the sending unit and fuel pump are built together on the liberty. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks

I seem to get a condition whereby I might be low with 3 gal. left in the tank, no low level light, and a range of say 65 miles.... I shut her down for the night and first thing on start-up the next morning the guage is one needle breadth from empty, the low level light is on and the range is down to 26 miles. Needless to say there is never a puddle under the car. Anyhow, after ...

Does anyone have a small fuel pressure gauge mounted to the schrader valve all the time? Something like this? What do I need to place one on the back of the intake for easy reading? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-800199/

The fuel gauge in my 260z (early) doesn't work. I'm looking for a working condition gauge to replace it. I believe the 280 gauges with the volt portion will work, correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks, Jeff It will have to be shipped to 60126
