I've searched these forums for a solution and I don't get the feeling that this issue has been reported here. I recently replaced the Dana 4405 T-case in my '97 Explorer Sport. When I took the old T-Case out, the CV joint on the front drive shaft came apart on me. So when I put the replacement T-case in, I left the DS out for the time being and figured I'd get back to it after I re-...

Hey all, Bear with me on this one, because it's a big one that is baffling me... So I have recently bought this 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited v8 Quadra-Drive. So the problem began about a few hundred km's ago, first off was a faint grinding noise when under acceleration. The noise progressed to a near defening grind / squeal when under acceleration. I took it to a mechanic mate of ...

I have the front drive shafts out (well, engine too) and need to move the car out of the garage to make some room to work. I wll be rolling it around the driveway. Looking at the wheel hub it would seem that the CV joints hold the wheel bearings in place. Do I need to rig something in place of the CV joints to hold the bearing in place? I'll be replacing the CV boots so I was ...

I'm building a TJ right now and just trying to get some ideas from anyone that may have done a 2 piece front drive line and how they mounted the bearing. Pics would be great thanks. Here is an example of what I'm talking about, but I'm running a passenger drop tcase and front axle.

I have a 92 300te 4matic and have to remove the front driveshaft in order to replace the modulator on the transmission. Is it ok to test drive the car with the shaft off? Thanks for any help.

I need 2 rebuild-able front drive-shafts for a D2, if you have one or two laying around it would be very helpful to other Rover owners. Prefer Free plus shipping of course, but will pay a small fee if needed. Please contact Nathan in my Signature for details. Thanks in advance,

I am looking for the front drive axle flanges. These are what you bolt the cv axle to on the transmission. They pop out of the transmission. It must be from an s4 six speed manual. The reason I am looking for these is I am installing S4 front brakes and aluminum uprights on my car, and I have to use the s4 axles also. So to do this on my A4 i need the axle flanges. If you have any ...

Should be grease not powdery, definately sounds buggered. Your looking for movement in joint in rotational direction & it should move up-down-sideways smoothly with no notchiness.

I did mine last week (took apart and cleaned) And put mine together wrong the first time. I had rotated it the wrong way. Its hard to explain. Try to rotate it and put it back together. It was alittle more difficult to put it back the right way.
