I am working on designing a 5.25 front panel for controlling all my cold cathodes, but I also want the same panel to hold a 3.5 bay for my card reader. I have some neat 3.5 brackets I scrounged from an old gateway to act as the 3.5 bay. My plan is to use black acrylic or my corsair obsidian's original drive cover as the face, put the 3.5 bay in the upper left corner, USB 3.0/eSATA ports in the...

I just put a used motherboard into a case of mine, except it doesn't have the 10-pin USB front panel connector pins on it, or the pins for the front panel audio. Is there a simple PCI card (or two) that I can just connect these 10 pin connector to and have the USB port on the front run through a PCI card in a PCI slot? Also, it has a memory card/USB reader in one of the front bays, which ...

When I was running Windows XP with Realtek's HD Audio drivers installed, its control panel had a feature I appreciated alot, where it would -not- mute the rear audio output jack when the front panel jack is being used. This is, for some reason, lacking from both Realtek's and MSI's customized control panels for Windows 7. I've been googling and trying to do this for an eternity, however, I can't...

I have a Gigabyte ep45-ud3p motherboard in my p182 case and have Audigy 2 zs sound card on it, the problem is my front panel sound does not work, the usb ports are fine. I tried both the HD and AC' 97 connection and still no luck. The mobo and case say they are Intel standard and I disabled azalia codec and onboard H/W 1394 like it states in the manual. Is there ...

Is it possible to reassign the front panel 3.5mm jack to mic in? I'd like to connect a headset (mic + headphones) to be able to talk on Skype, but unfortunately there is no normal mic in just like on all Macs. I bought a cheap jack-to-USB converter (basically, small USB soundcard) on eBay but the sound is a little noisy when I use it. From my PC experience I remember that ...

I'm just finishing up a new system build and am trying to tidy up the internal cabling a bit. I'm not trying to be too clever about it; all I want is not to have to negotiate my way past a three platefuls of spaghetti in order to do something like change the graphics card or add an extra hard disk. I'm using an Antec 900/2 case, and being able to route most of the cables behind the ...

It is raining here in Austin and I woke this morning to find that my water pump and all the lights and switches in my front panel of my 73 31ft rear bath no longer work. I checked the battery and it is good interior lights and 120v appliances work with Honda generator running. I checked the 12v breakers and fuses in the closet they all appear to be ok. Any suggestions? Is there a fuse in the ...

At first the problem was that the washer would not spin the final spin, so the clothes were wet. We replaced the motor control board, this caused another problem. Now the front control panel wont come on. Only one light comes on and the panel wont respond to any request, ie.. pushing buttons or turning knob. We have checked the door switch and this does not appear to be the problem. Help please....

I've got an old case that I like and see no reason to replace, but it lacks front audio out, which is a pain. So I thought there must be a front audio panel out there (may be even bundled with a card reader on the same panel) that I could mount onto the 5.25'' or the 3.5'' bay and hook up to the front audio connectors of my mobo. Has anyone seen ...

If it always boots, but it's just slow, you may have turned on the BIOS option for the long memory test. Call up the BIOS and look in Advanced Options and look for something like "Long Memory Self Test" or "Complete Self Test" and turn it off. Or turn on "Short Self Test". And you should award badge with a "Best Answer".
