Earth's Atmosphere Came from Outer Space, Scientists Find ScienceDaily (Dec. 11, 2009) - The gases which formed the Earth's atmosphere -- and probably its oceans -- did not come from inside the Earth but from outer space, according to a study by University of Manchester and University of Houston scientists. The report published in the journal Science means that ...

Why not? "We found a clear meteorite signature in volcanic gases," said Dr Greg Holland the project's lead scientist. "From that we now know that the volcanic gases could not have contributed in any significant way to the Earth's atmosphere. "Therefore the atmosphere and oceans must have come from somewhere else, possibly from a late bombardment of gas and water rich ...

I think it might be. Plan 9 was really really bad, but a lot of the badness was from visual effects. Twilight's visual effects are pretty poor by today's standards. What do ya'll think? Good luck exploring the infinite abyss.

This film is one whose reputation truly precedes it. Nearly everyone has heard of it, through one channel or another, garnishing itself a degree of fame (or infamy?) that puts it in pretty heavy company. That is, it's a movie that everyone knows about but not everyone has seen. I myself saw it for just the first time the other night and my conclusion is that it is NOT, no way no how, "The Worst ...

Argh, I just tried the old program compatibility mode for my old Carmageddon game, which hasn't worked for me since Windows 2000, and it still wouldn't work. I can't even get a downloaded demo for the game to work. Too bad it's not like the old GTA games where Rockstar put the originals up for download for free because the old CD's weren't working properly on Vista. I hate having games I can't...

I watched this film. The acting was truly painful. It hurt some much that I couldn't enjoy the bits that came up. Would have been better had I been watching it with a bunch of drunk friends. Alas, not many of my friends get drunk on a regular basis.

That being the definition of "elsewhere" and you postulate a time when there was no "earth". The better headline would say "Earth's atmosphere was a late arrival to our planet, probably from a late bombardment of comets." Doesn't answer the question "How did comets form and get so much water and gases?"
