I have heard that with amsoil ATF that you still need MoPar friction modifier and also I have heard that it already has it in it. Reading their site it looks as if it does have some kind of friction modifier in it. Can anybody confirm if the amsoil atf-4 is supposed to be a replacement for the mopar atf-4 and friction modifier or just the mopar atf? AMSOIL - Synthetic Universal Automatic ...

I'm currently in the process of doing a major service. I went down to my local Jeep stealership and picked up the transmission filters ($60 for both) and some Transfer case fluid ($44 per lt and needed x2 bottles). However then the dude gave me a free bottle of friction modifier and said 'apparently' I need this for the TC... I've never heard of putting FM in the TC, so I thought I'd ...

I have a 98 XJ with a Chrysler 8.25 with a trac lock lsd. I had my mechanic change the front and rear diff oils today, and I didn't remember to check for whether it had a LSD nor did my mechanic. Anyway I heard some weird noises coming from the rear end, so I jacked up the car tonight and spun the rear wheels and found out that it does have a LSD(both wheels spinning in the same direction), ...

How much friction modifier should I be adding to a Dana 10.50 rear axle ? The Motorcraft Additive comes in 4 fl oz bottles .. The Ford owners manual also calls for SAE 90 W Gear oil for the front differential all I can seem to find is the 80 W-90 .. Would this work ?

Swepco 201 appears to be a given. My transmission still shifts well when the clutch is properly adjusted and I'd like to keep it that way. "Friction Modifier (FM) is slippery stuff. The FM is in place to reduce LSD clutch chatter upon engagement. The amount needed is relative to the application and the age of the differential. In full race cars, you want the clutch to lock up nice and ...

I wanted to change the fluid in my rear diff so I can run at Atco tomorrow night, but I don't have anything on me. I'll certainly pay you for the fluids and, if you help me change it too, I'll bring beer. I'd prefer using Torco fluids, but on such short notice I won't be picky at this point as long as its the right stuff. I even went as far as to call the dealership but they don't have the ...

I just bought a 4 oz container of Redline friction modifier. I had initially purchased 4 quarts of Redline rearend synthetic oil which had the 'NS' designator (no friction modifier). How much of the 4 oz modifier do I need to add to the rearend on the X-Runner when I change the oil?
