I am trying to rip some CD's, and I've used previous versions of EAC and was able to get the freeDB to work fine. With this version, I can't seem to get it to work. Can someone tell me how to do it? I've tried everything that I can. The only Firewall that I have on is the one built into Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I ripped an audio book to MP3 so that I can put it on my iPod. However, I had to rename all the tracks as the title of the book was not recognised by Freedb. I merely put the title, CD number and left the track number for each. When I put the converted mp3s into a folder prior to putting them into iTunes, one or two of the tracks were not in correct running order. Is there any way I ...

I'm just starting out trying to put my cds onto a computer for future use with a server. I finally was able to semi-successfully rip a couple of cds to flac but I am unable to access "freedb" and thus couldn't get the cd info, titles, etc. On the setup when I try to access freedb the error message says "Error - Can't access host." Can anyone offer a suggestion? I already tried reducing my ...

Kerryman wrote: Does the track listing get downloaded from the web when you rip the CDs to your PC? If you tell it to, and if whatever program you're ripping with has that function. There are several dbases of CD titles. Gracenotes is the best known, perhaps, but they're not free. Apple subscribes to their service for iTunes. If that's what you're using, it can do this. The are also a couple...

http://www.mp3tag.de/en/ - I used this program MP3tag it can tag your cd's or MP3 files that already exist which is a big problem of freedb application it only tags CD's whereas this uses that said database but uses it to tag MP3's as well as that. Its freeware also which is good.

I should clarify a couple things: Windows Media Player was able to give you Artist/Album info because it downloads the song information, and stores it in an internal database. The wav format doesn't support tagging, so WMP doesn't actually change the files; this is why Foobar2000 doesn't have any of that metadata available to it. After you convert your music to the Flac format, you can ...

I use folder structure rather than file name to organise my music. Here is a rundown of my system: First in the folder structure is Artist (although Genre folders could be added to this structure easily). I use first name, last name with proper named artists, full title if a stage name or band. With bands preceeded the "the", I put the "the" second. So some examples: Aphex Twin ...
